Yep, my magnetic flashlight sticks to it around the edge. Not well, but it does. I'll check again to make sure. I really like those compared to the stick-in-the-way hood prop.

I haven't paid attention to the newer JLs since mine is 2021, but I thought I read on here that there was a fire at the facility that produces the aluminum JL hood, and so now all "newer" (what year newer is, I have no clue) built Rubicon JLs are coming with the 392 style hood, which is steel.

But as @yokramer said, you could just take a magnet and (carefully) check to see if it will stick and there's your answer.

I Just bought a 2026 Willys and it has a steel hood.

Yea I think it started with late model 25s that moved to a steel hood allegedly because of an aluminum shortage.
