Does anyone have a video or link to instructions of how to replace the rear door retainer catch?

Mine is very noisy and needs replacement. I had the same problem with my JK.

Considering that the JK didn’t have them at all, I don’t see how you had this problem on a Jk.

The later models JKs definitely had them. Both my 2013 10th anniversary JKRs had them.

It simply unbolts from both the gate and the tub and pulls out. There's really nothing to it, but you will need to remove the sub to get to it. That requires removing the cargo area hooks on the passenger side, a small screw by the rear passenger door, and pulling the seat belt cover off by the roll cage. I can't remember if there's anything else that holds that plastic housing back there, but once you've got that out, it's easy to get to.
