It is not certified to the specifications required and is not accepted for use by the manufacturer. It may work great, it may not. Not worth the risk in my opinion. Your opinion may vary, just don’t put it in my transmission.

I would feel just fine running the Redline, as it specifically lists our ZF 8AT in their OEM compatibility listing.

Pretty good deal on Amazon too by the 4qt pack

Per the filter, I have 68417054AB as the filter listed on a Mopar site. Does one need a new gasket or is the old gasket reusable on the pan???

This is for the 8HP50 behind the 3.6

Gasket is reuseable so long as it is in good condition. The part number is 68362042AA. Lists for 52.50 but can be had cheaper.

Looks like the part is discontinued, and my 2021 JLUR (3.6) VIN isn’t compatible.

I was hoping to replace the transmission fluid as a DIY, but haven’t been able to verify how many quarts to buy and I wasn’t aware of the filter change needed.

It’s probably just been superseded with a new part number, there is no change to the transmission.

The parts have been back ordered for a little while, it took me 2 weeks to get the last filter I ordered for a gladiator.

I'll need to look tonight, but I ordered my filter from Mopar Parts Online to ensure I got the right filter. I too had trouble finding the right one.

FCA calls it 850RE which is based off the ZF 8HP50.

There is not a separate filter, it’s integrated into the pan itself. So you have to replace the whole pan in order to replace the filter.

Genuine ZF Lifeguard 8 or Ravenol J1D2113-004 are most popular fluid options.

FCA says the trans is a “lifetime fill” while ZF says it needs to be changed every 80-120km or 8 years.
Isn't the filter just bolted on the pan? Buy the filter and replace it?

FYI, RockAuto sells a Mopar filter, along with WIX and "various brands". Mopar is $41 and WIX is $25. Shipping not included for either.

They also carry ZF, Valvoline, Pentosin, and Mobil fluids.

EDIT: The Mopar filter includes new nuts to hold the filter to the pan and an instruction sheet for installation.

Thanks. Rock Auto makes me nervous when I am not absolutely sure of the part. I have been burned twice by them. Of those 2 times, I am absolutely certain it was not on me for one of them, but I still had to pay shipping to return the parts.

That said, I just ordered a ball joint from Rock Auto for a car I am working on.

I just finished doing a drain and swap to a PPE transmission pan and filter. New pan comes with filter. I bought a new gasket just because. Bought 12 qts. of Mopar 8&9 fluid on E-Bay. I plan on pulling a trailer from time to time. 2021 Sahara w 86K
