Do you plan on lifting your 2-door or going up in tire size in the future. If your JL will be getting taller a drop step may be worthwhile.

I am using Rockslide Engineering Stepsliders on my 2-door that has a 3 1/2" lift and 39" tires, and they work well for my 5'6" wife. The step is narrow, but it drops down a long way, and neither of us have ever had problems slipping off the step.

They are really easy to install, everything you need is included and the instructions are easy to follow.

I run the MetalCloak Overland Flip Step. It’s 3 products in one.
-base plate (for rockcrawling slider protection)
-the step in “up” mode
-or in “down” mode.

some folks remove the step and use the base plate/slider for Gnarly trails. I run my steps in the “up” mode all the time. In the down mode, it’s a nice step for those who need it.

Check out my build thread for more info.

I am staying with the lift in the XR package. I will probably go to 37's. Thanks, those will fit the need for my 5'2" wife. Nice Rig!!

Thanks, I never saw that MetalCloak model before. It will do everything I want. Nice build!! I might "poach" a couple other items from your build.

Nice! Feel free to reach out, I’ve explored and compared many products over the past few years.

I had mine made in China Alibaba. They shipped them a couple of months ago and I'm supposed to be waiting for the next two. So to be honest I don't know what they'll look like. I'll post a photo later. :)

I bought these on Amazon for a bit over $200. YZONA is the brand, made in China with a capacity of 550lbs. My beef being a retired fabricator some of the welds aren’t the purtiest 😉. Definitely heavy duty and fit okay, I just think the welder was not on his best game.

These things do surprisingly well as sliders too. They are HELLA loud when you land on them but they dont break.

Thanks, I never consider those before because I didn't think they would hold up. I had the Mopar aluminum tube style on my 2018 JLUR, they were strong.

@Sean L has them on his 4 door Saracon and he took some MASSIVE hits to them and they are still holding up well. Though he broke an axle one time the plastic pop was so loud lol.

The powder coating is good, pretty much fit perfectly. Kind of heavy which I would think is a good thing.

I have the metal cloak step slider on my 2 door and usually run them in the down position for my wife to use.
