Can you run jet fuel in an ecodiesel?

Alright.... so I posted this in 10 groups on Facebook and got the same response from a couple of people. Long story short, lots of people are saying jet fuel doesn't have the right viscosity or lubricity.

On the other hand, people are saying to add oil or lubricant, and to triple the normal dose of additive like Hot Shots.

So, I figured to hit the JL Forums and get told Im stupid here too. For the record, I get the jet fuel for free, and can get jet oil for free as well. It's not like im taking a loss on any of this.

Heres my old F250 next to a Citation Encore as well, where I got some free fuel and oil for all of the haters.

Modern diesel with a CP4 pump like the Ecodiesel, no.

Older diesels or a Cummins that has a CP3 pump, just add some lubricity additives, cetane additives and/or mix with regular diesel.

I've heard that a lot, but I've seen people do it in a 6.7 PS with the CP4, so it's got the wheels turning in my head for what's possible.

JP5 would probably be fine. But you're not finding that too easily.

I wouldn't run JP8 or A.

I am not saying it can't be done with the CP4. You can even run a 200 shot of nitrous until it blows. I am just saying that it is not advisable due to the CP4's design and sensitivity to low lubrication.

Lets just say, your risk of failure is a lot higher with the CP4 and it will cost you a lot more due the fact that the CP4 sends metal particles throughout your whole fuel system when it grenades— requiring the whole system to be replaced. My father-in-law just had to pay $13k on his 2019 PSD because his CP4 failed and had a disco party throughout the whole fuel system.

So, is the cost savings worth the risk? That is up to you to decide, but it can be done.
