Hello again from Germany.
Does anyone also drive the Xtreme with the 3.6 E-Tourqe engine?
Is it normal that it is always a bit jerky in the lower rev range?
It has already been to the workshop 2 times, software update and new adaptation.
The mechanic says this is normal and that he had already noticed it on his E-Tourqe Ram.
Will it improve once the gearbox has got used to my driving style?
The last update was about 800 km ago.
Thanks and best regards

I have a '22 E-torque XR. Not quite sure what you mean by jerky, but if it's what I think, then I don't think the e-torque is what's causing it. It just shifts a little rough in those lower gears sometimes. I'm not impressed with the transmission. I feel like it doesn't pair well with the 4:56 gearing.

I don’t notice anything like that in my ā€˜22. I don’t drive it much so maybe I haven’t been paying attention

Mine sat at the dealer 90 days for this and other things. Got it back, nothing in the service computer saying they did anything. Thats the another issue.

The jerky thing, I just passed 4,000 miles, and it seems to act better or smoother most of the time. 1 out of 10 times down shifting it will be overly aggressive going for regen and jerk around. I have stock, 4.88 and 2 door JLR. It used to shutdown before vehicle stopped, then all of a sudden restart after stop causing some pretty impressive new cuss words to be uttered. That has not happened in last few weeks. I also bet the 4.55 or higher gearing was not thought out well with the 8 speed tranny. Now, if I get on it, the thing screams really well.

Any doubts why they don't use this system anymore?

I'm still betting or hoping, a 48v mgu, battery, total system removal hack or update to normal 12v alternator. I know, sell and buy one without, thats not in the cards, I'm retired...

No issues with my MY22 JLUR XR eTorque, in fact I like the way it accelerates and shifts better than my wife’s MY24 JLUR X non-eTorque.

Sorry I’m no help but I would continue to press Stellantis for answers.

Once in a while if I am almost stopped and I accelerate I will get a slight jerk in my 22 rubicon XR with e-torque

Not a rubi but a sahara e-torq here, found out some tires size does not play good with e-torq. Following the installation of my 275/70R18 updated my tires size to 33 using Jscan. Was getting a lot of jerkiness especially when the e-torq was kicking in and when doing regenerative breaking, especially in the lower gears. One of the symptoms other than jerkiness is the gears jumping, I can go really slow and the transmission will do 1 as normally than two and jump directly to 3 doing two gear change back-to-back. Tunned back to 32.5 using Jscan again and now gear change are way smoother. The interesting thing in all this is my speedo is 1 to 2% off at 32.5, I guess next time do some real-world validation instead of assuming paper number are true...

Hello back,
thank you for your answers.
The problem for me is not shifting or downshifting, but accelerating.
It jerks as if my old Mercedes gets too little gas for a moment.
Not strongly, but noticeably sometimes more sometimes less.
As if the E-Tourqe suddenly provides more or less support.
I was already thinking about the battery and cables and and and but they were all tested and no fault was found.

The system always tries to predict your action and if you don't drive how it predicts it jerks.

1. the system jerks when you transition from regenerative breaking to accelerating suddenly when engine rpm is low.

2. when you are about to stop then decided to go when engine is already preparing to shutdown, it jerks.

3. 25% throttle or 100% throttle acceleration is fine. but if you press the gas half way, etorque works below 1500 rpm and you have a high torque launch, but from 1500-2500 rpm etorque is not working and engine not in torque curve, therefore a loss of acceleration that feels jerky.

4. etorque do not provide extra torque above 1500 rpm, and depending on throttle position it may not kick in.

tire size need to be exact, use a gps for minor correction. transmission learning should be reset after tire size change.

That's right, I have the jerking exactly in this speed range.
The workshop was even able to show graphically that it goes down a notch at exactly 1630 rpm and rises again at around 2000.
That is interesting but also an explanation.
If I know that it's normal, it's easier to live with, but no one here in Germany drives this engine and so no one can tell me if it feels the same.
Thanks for that.
I checked the tire size with Jscan, I don't have it exactly in my head but it's 34,... for the 315 70 17

so I had a 2018 3.6 Recon before the JL.
It was a bit more sluggish in the lower range, but it didn't make such problems.
If you drive the Xtreme tightly, then it runs perfectly - it's just a bit annoying in the city when you have to keep up with traffic.

What’s your gearing, I never noticed it with 4.10, 4.88? It’s head snapping almost.
