I also went the cheap route. 4 eye bolts in ceiling joists and ratchet straps. Takes less then 10 minutes from start to stop. And it didn't cost $1000 and take up garage space.

I also agree Toplift pro if you want easy one person removal and easy storage.

In regards to the door if he has a kid he’s doing the same thing as I do, I only remove 3 doors and keep the one rear door by the car seat on, just Incase!

I went with an electric hoist from harbor freight. And installed it in the ceiling. I basically followed Roadrash's youtube video.

I would love to be able to hang my top in the garage but I am not sure the ceiling will support it. Previous owner put up a plywood ceiling and insulated which is nice BUT it’s poorly supported. Basically the ceiling is a 16 foot span with zero support and maybe 2x6 boards

Gen 2 Hoist-a-Cart. By far one of the easiest solutions to pulling a hardtop with one person and storing it and two doors - especially if you don't want to use your ceiling. Allows you to have a spidershade or any other sun shade installed and have no issue popping the top in minutes.

I don’t have the floor space so I went on ceiling. Smart garage motorized lift. Totally worth it for me. Hangs in the summer over my wife’s Tahoe. Luckily I got 12 plus high garage ceiling. Glad I listened to my dad’s buddies when they built my house.

Always planned more but ..... duh, this was quick and easy and besides my garage isn't tall enough that I wouldn't walk into the top so any hoist would still end it up in the back yard
If you can't find one other person to lift the top twice a year then perhaps you need to be more sociable anyways ?

For now I built a DIY cart. It's incredibly stable and super smooth to roll. Near 0% chance of it falling over.

I'm building a house now, and when I'm done I'll install the Lange Hoist a Top that I have waiting patiently in storage.

The han crank hoist works great for me. On my 3rd Jeep now. I added some ratchet straps for reinforcement. Great options out there. Enjoy

Ratchet straps hanging from garage rafters. Cheap. Easy. Secure. Drive-in, drive-out, done.

I did the same thing in my barn. Cost me less than $30. Easy for one person to remove and put roof back on by themselves.

So my wife and I took the Jeep out for a nice drive today and hit a cruse in spot in Greenwood, IN (just south of Indianapolis, IN).

Any to my point. Just for fun I decided to time how long it took to remove all 4 doors, the freedom panels, 8 bolts for hard top, remove hard top, put on foot pegs, trailer hitch flag mount, and side mirrors for when the doors are off.

start to finish, 18 min and some change and that includes driving my Jeep down to my barn and backing in and removing the hard top by myself using those ratchet straps that I mentioned above. Easy and very useful.
