Toying with the idea of shipping containers for s garage.
Anyone done it?
On theory based on the measurements a jl will fit.

You'll save a thief ring the work of getting it on a boat.

I have seen a few shipping containers being used as storage sheds for lawn equipment and/or motorcycles, etc., but not for automobiles. The owner who does so would need to push the vehicle inside and manually pull it out, if only because there'd be no room to open the doors to any useable degree.

There's also the matter of how the extreme interior heat would/should be managed. That'd certainly be true here, and I'd wager that OK has warmer summers than we do.

what you need is a side door container. Some have single doors, some open the entire side. That would allow you to open the end door and a side door then drive/back into the container and exit the vehicle easily through the side door. I am seriously considering this option until I can build a large garage next year, then repurpose the container for other storage needs. I currently have 2 20 foot containers for storage and one problem they have is that they sweat with condensation when outside temperatures change drastically. some form of air vent is a good idea.

after reading @Heimkehr’s post my head went directly to concoting a complex pulley system that would allow you to use the winch to get the Jeep in/out… and here you with your practic solution to ruin all the fun! Haha
