Jeep Connect subscription expiring

I just received an email that my Jeep Connect subscription is going to expire. I assume it was included in the purchase price. I don’t want to call the 800 number and listen to a sales pitch for nothing and I prefer not to read a sales pitch in the owners manual, which is the reason for this post. The only service I typically use is real time traffic, and that really doesn’t seem to work very well. I just purchased a Garmin tread 2 and haven’t even opened the box yet, so I don’t know if that comes with real time traffic. I use Google Maps on CarPlay, but that is only good with a cell signal. I briefly clicked on the website and apparently the lowest Tier cost 16 bucks a month, I pay eight dollars to get real time traffic in my Ford Raptor. Actually, the Ford would not even update streets and highways without the subscription, is Jeep the same way? I would appreciate some pros and cons with a subscription to Connect.

I subscribe to their lowest tier just for the satellite remote start. I gets nasty cold where I am.

I bought a 2024 in January, no subscription and my maps has said it updated the areas I am in, went to Auburn an got the message it had updated while I was there. And mine shows up traffic cameras and speed limits

thats about right for me as well. I can hit it from office window 4 floors up with line of sight. Thats good enough to not have to pay for a dumb subscription. LOL.....

Is the remote start part of the connect one package that is 10 years ‘complimentary’ from date of purchase?

Or do you need to get a monthly plan for that?

My jeep app only has the door locks available, not remote start.

I never understood why people give away their private information especially after buying such an expensive vehicle,,, apps like Jeep connect collect your driving and personal data and sell it to Lexus Nexus which alternatively sells it to your insurance company, and it’s even available to law-enforcement in some cases!

Information like driving habits, breaking, acceleration, seatbelt use, and other private stuff like location driving routes and history those are just a few things people pay to give away,,,

If you’re going to use Jeep connect you should call them and have them remove you from data collection and still that doesn’t always work, there’s a modem in your Jeep that constantly broadcast a Wi-Fi signal but the dealer never tells you that but after buying a $50,000 vehicle people are still paying to give away their sensitive information and personal data and then they wonder why insurance rates are so high!

severing the data stream is easy you just disconnect your modem, losing auto start which I don’t have anyway is a small price to pay for privacy, but there’s always not subscribing and paying for a service that takes your data and personal information,,, Even a simple phone call to Jeep connect will take you off of there system,,, there’s many things you can do but people will be people,,,

I let mine lapse. It is purely a cellular service from At&T. which is bad in my area. If you want to really up the game, install a Starlink which works everywhere as it is satellite based.

The app on my 26 only has the door locks and ventilation on, no remote start or climate settings.
I was just commenting the other day how worthless the app is.

it was free for a year for me. The button on the fob is more than sufficient now.

Did you post this with or do you use a smart phone, smart TV or basically anything else with an IP address on it in your life? Just wondering.
