I got an interesting call from Jeep today. I was told that my 2022 Jeep 392 which was ordered in February (VIN received, D status) can not be built. I had two options, continue the build without the ordered Xtreme Recon package or build a 2023 with the Recon package. I decided to wait for the 23. Jeep said that it will be built in the 3rd quarter of this year. What's a few more months anyways? ?

So apparently the 392 will again be produced along with the Xtreme Recon package. :jk:

I'm curious does anyone know about options for 2023 JL 392?

Well, that confirms that the 392 will continue for 2023. Sounds like you should have it by Christmas, maybe Easter next year.

Hello!
Are you the same person that posted in the Facebook group about this?
Either way, if they told you it would be built in the 3rd quarter, that is Awesome!
I have a 392 XR on order since October the 9th and I still don't have it!
I want to wait till the 23 at this point. No sense in paying 80K when I am a few months from the next years model:)

No, didn't hear it from me on FB. Apparently mine was about to be built, but the Xtreme Recon package changed that. You're right, at this point I'd rather have a 23 in late 22.

I heard rumors that the 2023 would get a mid-model facelift, which is typical, but who knows...
Nothing more than an internet rumor. it gets repeated a lot here, some calling it a "mid cycle refresh" There is no evidence of it anywhere in the automotive press or on the internet.

If that phone call was truly Jeep, I wouldn't hold my breath. Good luck to you though.

BTW - how does Jeep have your phone number?

Ok cool, so that means at least 2 people have been given that option.

I have waited over 200 days since I ordered. They didn't start 22s till late December, but still, a long time either way.
At this point, I don't mind waiting a few more months for the 23.

Quick opinion: My 22 will hopefully be here by June and if it is, Do I buy this one that I have had on order and then trade for the 23, or let this one go and just order a 23?

Thanks for posting and keep us up to date!

Huh... so I wonder if this is an issue with adding XR to the 392 right now, or simply an XR issue altogether. I am seeing lots of people get their builds with XR package lately. I hope they haven't run out of parts for it... I have an XR on order.

I believe the dealer typically includes your name and contact info when they submit your order to FCA/Stellantis, at least if it's marked as a "Sold Order" anyway, and not just ordered for dealer inventory.

I just can't imagine what they'd do with the JL visually right now. It's class leading, the interior is better than the Bronco especially in the 392 and other factory (non-"perforated") leather equipped models, the exterior looks just about as slick and modern as one might expect. Possibly the more complex front grill from the EJS concept and the new uConnect 5 unit could be added but other than that there isn't as much of an obvious thing they can do like there was with the JK's many Saturn-quality interiors.

Interesting that Jeep will be building the 2023s in 3rd quarter, as opposed to mid December as was with the 2022MY. This could mean 2022MY order books will close around July and 23MY order books will open around there too.

I hope the XR gets the 4.88 with auto on 37s.

Well Jeep did use 500 XR setups for their Beach Week High Tide promotion which certainly delayed us all…
