Anyone having issues with the tranny staying in gear too long? Feels like it’s just not right. Maybe an issue with my tranny? Just hit 1k on a 19 Sahara.

You may want to take it in and have a tech look at it, it might just need a re-flash

Sounds identical to another thread that was started a week or two ago. The 850RE auto is programmed with VERY aggressive engine braking. Far too aggressive in my opinion. I've had diesels and full size gas pickups that didn't have this much engine braking. It makes for a very weird driving experience if you're coming from other vehicles. But, FCA will tell you it's "normal" because that's just how they programmed it.

Not sure why they felt that level of engine braking was needed on a vehicle with the lowest tow capacity in the segment, but hey, it is what it is.

Oh, and if I leave a stop light under hard throttle, it'll try and stay in 4th gear forever....long after I've let off the throttle. It's a real PITA.

The 3>2 shift under 50% throttle is jarring also.

The ZF transmissions are world-class. But after FCA gets a hold of them and alters the ratios, programming, etc. they really ruin them. It's a shame.

I dont know, I have 3 of em, all shift awesome, no issues behind a 5.7 Hemi overland, nor 6.4 in a SRT Challenger and wifes JL, best transmission and programing on all 3. Always in the right gear or pop it in manual and have fun :)
