issue with 4 wheel drive 2021 jl

I have a 2021 jeep jl In 4 wheel drive it started to pop. It has gotten worse over time and now it makes the noise whenever.
My original thought was the FAD was the issue. i removed the cover and everything looks good and it slides freely.
It feels like a gear slipping, the drive shaft looks good and I pull the dif cover and all good there.
i don't know if its a hub or maybe the transfer case

Is it Popping out of 4h and back to 2h? You may need a shifter adjustment.

Need more info. Is it popping out of 4hi, 4lo, neutral? Does it happen when you turn the wheel? Any other abnormalities?

when in 4hi or 4low going straight it will pop like skipping a gear. I have turned traction control off and it still happens
I pulled the fad and moved the coupler over and reinstalled the the cover and unplugged it, I thought that would lock it in and still pops. Basically its losing 4wd when it happens

Have you drained the transfer case fluid and inspected for metal? I think that would be my next step with this issue.
