NOT true with Summit Racing.... I had a warranty return..... They sent me a replacement Odessey 94R battery out right away.
That still means days. If my battery goes bad, I’m running again in an hour, with a new one.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this thread may be focusing on the wrong problem.

Yes, no argument, your vehicle came with a slightly larger than H6 size H7 battery, and by all means I'd recommend that anyone, when replacing their JL battery, H6 or H7 originally, acquire an H7 size one, especially a JL owner who's packages found them outfitted with an H7 originally, including those JLs that run with one or two AGM batteries.

Often this slightly larger battery is not any more expensive and why not have the extra oomph.

That said, replacing it with an H6 battery, rather than an H7, IMHO pails in severity to something that I think has been overlooked here given everyone's being incensed about where to buy a battery and the idea of (gasp) buying a slightly smaller battery than that you had. It is as follows.

It is entirely possible, not knowing the details of what inspired your new and recent battery purchase, that your Aux battery is on its way out. Connecting your new battery, H6, H7, or whatever, in parallel, as is the case in dual AGM battery JLs, to a potentially used up Aux battery can be a recipe for that new battery getting irrevocably cannibalized by that Aux battery.

I am happy to point you in the direction, permanently or temporarily, of how to bypass that Aux battery, but if you want to operate with both batteries you would be wise to, at the very least have that Aux battery load tested before hooking it up to the new main battery.

I'm also happy to guide you in where to hook up a load (not multimeter) tester to test only that Aux battery, not both batteries in composite: which can hide deficiencies in one battery alone.

If you haven't already, refrain from introducing that new battery until potential issues with your Aux have been addressed.

duralast platinum. it will die in 3 years or so, I will get a reduced price on a new battery.

I've had great luck with Ford Max, but, Ford dealers are not open at 9pm. Nor are they everywhere.

I wanted to try Duracell, but again, when my RV house batteries died two weeks ago, closest battery plus was 3 hours away, autozone, 20 minutes.

I see, I think I will just also replace the aux battery as well. Thank you for pointing this out.

I don't understand why anyone orders batteries online. If you need to return it, or have warranty issues it becomes a big hassle. Buy locally, so that these things are far more easy to handle quickly and easily.
Walmart ~4 mi away, another ~15 and they have auto service and will install free. They are nearly everywhere you may have need of a replacement. They have proven a reliable good value. The warranty has not been tested. I had one in the 4R for ~8 years, and my grandson ~another 2 when he sold it.

I use O’Reilly’s Super Start batteries. Every single one I've bought has outlasted the warranty.

We just had that same exact Odyssey battery in our Jeep and it barely lasted a little over two years. Odyssey wants us to do all kinds of jumping through the hoops and everything else for a warranty. Screw them!!!!! I bought the much bigger full throttle battery. Happy for now.

Just replaced mine yesterday. Unfortunately- as others have pointed out- the 850 CCA battery that they advertise is only 800 CCA.

How long is the website allowed to be wrong before it becomes fraud or false advertising? 🤔

Well I bought an AUX14 battery from Napa, removed the battery again, and disassembled the power distribution center to find.... there was no aux battery. smh.

Upon further research, eTorch models do not have an aux battery but, instead, a 48V battery located somewhere else under the car. From what I can tell that is completely separate from the main battery system and therefore is most likely not related to this whole problem.

At least I know how to disassemble the power distribution now... i guess...

I found a ODP-AGM94RH7L4 at local store a few hours away so I just bit the bullet and went to get it. So now I have an H7 installed and I've learned a few lessons.

Thanks for the information all! I tried to search the forums here before ordering but I didn't come across that thread.

Cheers
Go to Walmart and get a H7 battery, covered by a 36 month warranty and you can get it replaced at most all Walmart stores.

Sorry but I just don't understand how people that work on their jeeps/cars/trucks don't know what they actually have or understand beforehand. Get to know your vehicle before you work on it!

I used the Odyssey web site to order a new battery for my 2023 JL Rubicon and I ordered the one that the site said matches my vehicle. I installed it yesterday and it's smaller than the stock battery -- shorter in length. Was this the wrong battery? It seemed to be ok but I'm wondering if it being smaller will cause problems with it moving around in the designated space?

Yep, you got the wrong battery, send it back!

As you know, the answers with pictures, do‘s, and don‘ts, have been posted repeatedly by folks like @Rhinebeck01 @Jebiruph and @THAW. Still…you can lead a horse to water.…
