That’s an H7 size for sure. I don’t know the manufacturer codes for dating, but I would investigate the 005986/2015. I can’t imagine in was made in 2015.
If not a sticker, for some numbers and a letter etched into the battery in the left corner by the positive terminal. For example 18H22 would be the 18th of August 2022. H being the 8th letter of the alphabet for the 8th month of the year.
Probably depends on the supplier of the battery to Mopar at the time as to whether it’s a sticker, QR code, or etched.
A few years ago I emailed Odyssey trying to figure out date codes and regarding the months, with A meaning January etc, they told me they didn’t use E or I as a month designation. When I asked why, the person said, because our engineers are weird.
If it’s the original battery the manufacturing date of the battery should be close to the manufacturing date of the Jeep.
I have an etched DOM near the negative post. It is 24 F 23 so June 23 2024. Now the point of this exercise...
MY: 2024
Built: June 27 2024
Lot queen for > 1 year
Bought: new by me October 2025.
I wanted to see if I could tell if it was the original assembly line battery or the dealer replaced it sometime in the year it sat. So options are:
A) Battery made 6/23/24 & put in Jeep just 4 days later 6/27/24.
B) Battery replaced (lets say spring 2025) with one from the parts department with the above date.
Also regarding battery size I read on this forum tow pack = big battery, no tow pack = little battery & that is not true as my Jeep has no tow pack but does have the big battery.
