I've had forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking on my car for the last three years, and my Sport S will not have it.

I didn't use it often, but on the two times in the last three years I needed it, I really needed it.

So I'm going to add something—maybe the Brandmotion unit, maybe the Mobileye unit, maybe something else someone here better-versed in the Wrangler suggests.

Any suggestions?

Side note: I'm sure there are some of you who saw this post and got a rush at the opportunity to do two of your favorite things—(1) chide what you perceive as a distracted driver and (2) decry advancing technology as the downfall of human civilization. Now I am normally not one to refuse others the joy of useless posturing, but because posts like those would actively discourage other people from sharing the information I'm looking for, I would like to invite you to—instead of posting—take that opportunity to update your anti-technology manifesto. The joy of arguing with me will pale in comparison to postponing the Terminators' Judgement Day when you finally publish.

Thanks everyone!

My dashcam has an optional advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) in the form of a lane departure warning system (LDWS) and a forward control warning system (FCWS).

It's audible only, works ok but not great in my opinion, and is probably only a route to address your concerns if you already want a dash camera.

Let me know if you want more details.

Thanks for the info! I'm nervous about going the cheaper dash cam route because I don't know if I trust it—I wouldn't mind spending a bit more on a more dedicated unit, even if all I'm purchasing is peace of mind.

I agree. These safety systems are more watered down perks that help sell a dash cam than real systems which can not only alert the driver but react on their behalf.

I respect that you desire a more substantial safety warning system.
