My name is Glenn. Great to be on this Forum. I just traded in my 2012 Sahara Altitude for a 2024 Willies. I need to figure out the best way to mount my UHF/VHF radio and antenna. I'll be adding Fender flair extensions to take care of mud splashes on the doors. My console vault comes in on Tuesday.

I don't remember if I posted on here first. I just purchased a used white 22 Rubicon JLU 3.0 with 43k miles. From the Car fax it was serviced well every 5k to 10k miles it seems. So the previous two owners took care of it. Brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain KO3's were put on before I purchased it since the dealership said they were close to not passing inspection. All stock except it looks like tint was done. I'm not familiar with what packages all come on these but this one has adaptive cruise, heated steering wheel and seats, leather, upgraded stereo. front camera and one touch top.

I'm seriously thinking of pulling the trigger on the purchase of a Jeep. Never owned one before, though have had six different 4X4s over the years. I'm an old guy now and latest ride is a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500. Got it after selling my 2005 Avalanche which I held onto for 16 years or so.
Quickly discovered the one thing I did not like about the Jimmy. Compared to the Avalanche, it is tooooo long (wheelbase wise) and a pain in the azz to park most places.

No longer feel a need for the truck as I had it mostly to tow my bass boat which I will be selling soon due to (family health) reasons. So, once I get rid of the boat (or maybe before), I need to sell the Jimmy too.
(Meantime, I also have another small truck which is an SSR six speed) so I can haul some stuff if the need comes up.

While I have not yet driven one yet, I've kinda focused on the looks of a JL Wrangler Rubicon. Hoping for some warmer weather around here soon as I want to test drive one I saw at a nearby dealer. It's red with a black top which is my go to color scheme and it's a 2021 model with around 25k miles as I recall the sales guy telling me.

Kinda spoiled with the heated seats and steering wheel that my Jimmy has, but maybe this one has those features also..........have not yet even gotten a peek inside of it.
I'll go by the nickname on the site as Scoot.
Looking for feedback on what to look out for regarding the Rubicons.

Well, I am now in a brand new 2025 Willys with the 35" extreme pkg. Got it with my favorite red color and black top. Opted for the V6 engine and automatic. Have a six speed other ride so no need to keep shifting gears. Have added running boards to be able to get in and a few other options.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Bruce and I am a Jeepacholic.

I own a Kaiser Willys PU, 1954 that I am returning to stock. I just ordered a JL Willys 2 Door that should arrive in September. This will be our third 2 door, Purchased a Sahara in 1999 and had it stolen 15 years later. Then had a 2016 that my son drove into the ground.

Kids gone, semi-retired and my wife and I love driving our country roads in these rough and tumble vehicles. Will be lurking around looking for tips on these new beasts.

Welcome Glenn! I have a console vault in my '20, and had them in my rams as well. I won't claim to know much about the radios, I'm still learning but I think for Ham/GMRS a cowl mount, usually drivers, non-ground plane. Match your antenna to the frequencies you'll use. I don't have a radio mounted, I carry 2 handhelds, 1 is Ham/GMRS/MURS/FRS/AM/NOAA and the other GMRS/FRS.

Evening from Ottawa Canada. Recently purchased a 2023 Rubicon after driving a 2001 Tacoma for years.

Long story short I love the Jeep however dealerships, not so much.
