I am back in the Wrangler game after a few years away from Jeeps. This rig is my 3rd Wrangler, I had a couple of JKUs back in the day. This one, I built from bone stock to a nice daily driver/weekend wheeler.

Hi,

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little background. I’ve been a Ford guy my entire life. At 51 years old, I’ve owned just about everything they’ve built over the years—from the 90s Powerstrokes to the Mustang GT. I even did a full frame‑up restoration on a 1978 Bronco. When it comes to the older models, I’m still deeply rooted in the brand.

That said, the newer trucks haven’t given me the reliability I expect. My last two— a 2021 F‑150 and a 2024 Ranger—both had issues. I’m also not a fan of the EcoBoost engines, not just because of reliability concerns but because they don’t provide the hold‑back I need in the mountains. I live at about 2,000 feet and travel down into the 900s and back up every day, so engine braking is important to me.

So, after a lifetime of Ford loyalty, I made a big change. My wife and I purchased two new vehicles last Saturday. I went with a Rubicon JL, and she chose a Gladiator Willys. We’re hoping for a better experience moving forward and are looking forward to doing some trail riding together—with the dog in tow—as we get older.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Jamie

Greetings friends! New member here with a new to me 2025 Willys 4Xe in Anvil gray. I’ve owned jeeps in the past; 1976 CJ5 Renegade in sienna orange and a 1978 CJ5 (cause I didn’t learn the first time) in some kind of white with purple stars on the side (LOL). The first CJ was a real dog. Had to rebuild the carburetor, change plugs, distributor cap and points, and LOTS of little electrical problems. Then the mechanical issues started. The 2nd one was fun but I got a bug up my shorts and I ended up trading it for an International Harvester Scout II in Terra cotta red. Great runner but with the big V8 she got 15-17 MPG.

In 2000 I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo in firecracker red. She went 230k relatively trouble free miles! That thing was awesome. In 2010 I got my Toyota taco with the intention of keeping my Laredo. Unfortunately “someone” sold her while I was on a hunting trip.

The “jeep bug” bit me again and that’s what prompted the current purchase. So far I’m loving it. This weekend will be our first trip with him so hopefully everything goes well.

Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July weekend everyone!

Hello, new guy here. I just inherited this ‘22 4xe after my father passed away on Memorial Day. He bought it 2023 with 13K miles on it. It had 40K when I got it. Even though he was in his 80’s, he took great care of it. It was a comfortable 1100 mile drive for my wife and I to bring in home after his funeral.

I just had the 68C recall completed. I also had the front door glass tinted to match the rest of the vehicle. I just ordered a J&L oil catch can to install when it gets here. So far we are enjoying the Jeep, and I know my dad would have been happy to know it was going to be well cared for.

My other rides are a 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S convertible and a 1965 Corvair Corsa convertible.

Welcome to the Forum, from Cave Creek AZ.

My condolences, regarding your father. I lost my father when I was only 19 years old. That was one of the worst days in my life!
Nice looking Ride, I hope that you enjoy it:)

Had a '94 YJ, '00 TJ, then a few 2500 Rams. In May I purchased a new '26 Gladiator.
My bride, a "Ford Girl" for many years, rode in it a few times and says-I want one of these but without the bed.

The dealer up the road from me has a Willys for sale that is that exact same color. My wife likes it but we are not in the market for another vehicle now.
