Jeff from DE.

I've been keeping an eye on the JT since I have been wanting a 4WD pickup with a manual transmission, which is a rare thing to come by these days. I test drove one of the new Tacomas with a manual, but Toyotas just always manage to be soulless machines to me and the Tacoma was no exception. If the JT comes out in a two door version with a manual trans, Jeep may earn my business and my 08 Silverado will be replaced.

I went to order a JK a couple of weeks ago and missed the order deadline. 2018 JK orders are expected to open on 8/10....But, I'm going to hold off for the JL. Here's hoping the a first generation FCA auto isn't going to be full of problems.
I look forward all of us forming a community

Hello from Los Angeles! I had a 2008 JKU Rubicon that I sold a few years back due to high miles and cost of operation. I loved it, but my daughter started playing competitive travel softball, so all my extra time and $$$ goes to that now. I have recently started to "feel the itch" again, and am planning my return to the Jeep fold. It may take me a few years, but it will happen! I have been into off roading since I bought my first new truck, a 1991 Nissan SE-V6. From there, I was hooked! Since then, I have had a 79 CJ5, a 95 Land Rover Defender 90, a 98 Tahoe, and my 08 JK. I was on a few JK forums before, and hope that this forum will be as friendly, useful, and entertaining as my prior experiences. Cheers!

Waiting for 2018
My first ever vehicle in 1997 was a GEO Tracker Dual-Top but subsequent vehicles were much more mainstream - Mazda Protege and Honda Odyssey. Last summer I rented a Sahara Unlimited for a three-week vacation in Canada and came away as huge Wrangler fan. Lots of fun removing front and full top and even camped overnight in it one night. This June was able to rent a brand-new Rubicon Unlimited for 10 days and was equally impressed. Wranglers seem particularly popular in Colorado and for good reason. Fuel economy and crash safety are not ideal with current models but excited about improvements coming in 2018. Hoping my Odyssey will last long enough for a 2018 or 2019 Wrangler Unlimited to be its replacement.

Howdy from high desert of Northern Nevada. Currently have a 2007 Rescue Green 2D Rubicon. After driving sticks for well over 50 years I'm ready for an automatic. I figured it was about time for a new Rubicon since I'm coming up on 95K. I Know I know - some of you probably have 195K or more :) - but it is a good excuse as any to order a new Jeep. Started looking at the 2017 Recon but saw, even as loaded as it was, it didn't have the modern options that I wanted. I asked when those options, rear view camera, blind spot detection, etc., were coming out and was then told about the 2018 Rubicon. Since I bought the 2007 as a new model figured I might do the same for the 2018. I'll plan to go through Costco to save the hassle of negotiating.

Took your advice - verified that the local dealer participates, joined Thread Lightly at the $100 level, and now I just wait until the new Rubicon is released. Strange feeling knowing that the 07 Rubi I'm currently driving will be gone in a few months :)

Hey whats up guys, PJ here.

No Jeeps ever. I have wanted one for few years. I am the point where I will be able afford a 2017 JK Rubi ... However the JL is so sweet, I'm gonna hold out until release! Looking forward to the JL.

2018 Jeep JL Unlimited
Hi all,

I've owned a couple jeeps over the years (98 TJ, 09 JK) and am really excited about the upcoming JL! With that said, I'm still debating with myself on which model I want.

I traded my last jeep in to get a vehicle that could haul our small hybrid camper which weighs just under 4,000lbs. When I heard about the truck variant I was really excited as I thought it would be just what we needed. I've seen the pics of it and while it looks really nice, it's not that boxy short wheelbased jeep that I love.

The other thing that has me on the fence is the possibilities of potential discounts on the JK's when the JL starts hitting the showrooms. If I could get a really good deal, I wouldn't mind a 2-door JK willy's wheeler in Rhino (though I REALLY wish jeep had kept the Anvil color as it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful color on a jeep I've ever seen!) I can't recall if there were any discounts on the TJ's when the JK's first rolled out.

Anyway, going to be on pins and needles as I "wait and see" for the next few months.

Take care everybody!

Hello from Kelowna BC,
I have been keeping up with the JL updates on this forum for a few months now but haven't posted yet. I currently own a 2011 JK sport in Mango Tango and can't wait to see the JL release as my wife and I will be in the market for an Unlimited in the next year or so. The problem is we are slowly being priced out of being new Wrangler owners.

We bought our new JK sport for $20,995 back in 2011 which was reasonable for a Jeep Wrangler , but looking around the lots in our area there isn't an Unlimited for under $47k. We love our Jeep and can't see ourselves driving another vehicle but are not the type to spend that much... what got us into a Wrangler in the first place was it's affordability and then we got hooked to the lifestyle.

Despite my bitching about price I am still extremely excited to see the new design and especially the JT in 2019!
Cheers!
