Hi new member and new 21 JLU Willys owner from California, but not new to Jeeps. We currently have 3: My "new" 21 sting gray Willys JLU, wife's ride 2000 XJ sport, and my 1953 475 Willys pick up. The JLU has replaced my dearly departed daily driver, a 2001 XJ 60th Anniversary after 11 years and 300k miles. Still learning all the whistles and bells; a lot more electronic content than the XJ and several generations removed from the truck (6 volts, vacuum wipers, manual choke YF carb, and tube type NDT tires). She will be driven mostly on pavement but will see some mild off road use.

More later: Joe

Spent 4 years in Saint Mary's County, back when I lived there it was great hunting and fishing. Spent many a day in the woods with both Jeeps and Dodge Pickup trucks.

Welcome to the forum and the jeep world, hope you enjoy both.

Hi. Mike from Ontario Canada. After my 5 month old 2024 Lexus RX350 was stolen, I moved quickly to find a replacement. I have had my eye on a Jeep for a long time too. In fact, the night before the RX got stolen, I was in a Jeep dealer looking at them.

I was initially looking for a '24 as they were being heavily discounted. None were available with the options I wanted. I was then planning to order one to my specs, then the RX was stolen, so my dealer just found one at another location.

2025 Wrangler Sahara 2.0T
Safety Group
Trailer Tow
Tech Group
Side Steps
Sky One Touch top
Mckinley power leather seats

So the Ultimate Mall Crawler Edition lol.

Sticker was $74K and with a bunch of discounts and incentives, I paid $58K.

Hello Jeep community! My name is Max, I live in Clarkston, Michigan My first Jeep was a 2000 XJ Sport that I wish I'd never sold, but rear facing child seats were a no go with two 6' tall adults up front. I used to be into Mustangs but my latest one, a 2012 Boss 302) became a garage queen after I became a neurotic mess about it, so I sold it for an already modded 15 JKU Saraha back in 2020. Two Kids, wife, and I loved it. Bought, not built, so I still know very little about Jeeps and wheelin.
I like cold, naked drives to the local ice cream shop. My daughter can always talk me into ice cream when the roof and doors are off.
I now own a franchise of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling in Clarkston, Michigan. I have been all over the world from growing up in wheat capitol south of Spokane, Washington, working summers in Alaska on a fishing tender, lived outside Denver for a bit and became a truck driver and directional driller until 9/11, then couch surfed down in St. Pete Florida, then joined the Navy in 01. Deployed to the middle east in 03, got out in 06, was a DoD civilian firefighter for a decade then became a "safety sometimes professional." Got out of government during COVID due to a conflict of philosophy to open my current business. I hope life stories are okay here?
So, since my business is part of a Veteran-centric franchise, and it is near impossible to drive a 6 speed on 37's, talk business on the phone with no cabin insulation or carpet, and eat Speedway pizza all at the same, I decided to upgrade to a 21 JLUR automatic with heated seats and steering wheel (this IS Michigan), full carpet, hands free phone and Sarge Green (fits the Veteran brand). My only complaint is a lack of cup holders, but I enjoy being a much more responsible driver now.
I will be selling the JKU in the near future after tariffs make car prices go up.
I have learned a few things since Jeep ownership though.

1. Don't worry about the CEL, it's probably not important and your Jeep is just over-sensitive.
2. That oil running down the trans housing is the oil cooler. I've done this job myself twice now. S.O.B.!
2b. Don't bother with another OEM oil cooler/filter housing. Found the aluminum one and I will pre-emptively change the one on the 21 before the plastic clips get too heat cycled and brittle (hopefully)
3. Death Wobble happens. And once it does it will get worse. Most dealerships dont know sh*t about fixing it. It seems to be a fireable offense to even mutter the term, and they'll try to bandaid your "excessive vibration" with a steering stabilizer.
3b. Might as well replace everything that has to do with the front end, because a death-wobble-compromised bushing on an old part will quickly compromise the newest part.
4. I'm agnostic about ducks, I won't comment here about them either way unless I suspect you bought your own and glued them to the dash like a self-awarded trophy.
5. I feel guilty missing a Jeep wave, but we'll all live through it.
6. I drove my cousin's JT, and loved it, which made me appreciate it same as a Wrangler or XJ. I know, I know, I drive a trail-rated minivan anyway.
7. When you go to Hawaii, you MUST rent or Turo a Wrangler. [Image of the green JKU on our way up Mauna Kea included]
7. Frickin tires are expensive! and I have 5! Frequent rotations are a must.
8. Which brings me to my final thought, of course, Just Empty Every Pocket.
9. Oh shoot, almost forgot, geometry correction brackets on my 2.5'" lifted JLU made night and day difference. I highly recommend them!

If you didn't get this far, I completely understand. But the above effort reflects my genuine affection for community, and appreciation for the help I've already found on this forum as just a lurker. Thanks to you all for helping me find RokBlokz (dirt road, remember), how to mount the Badlands Apex in a stock steel bumper with clearance for the wiring and control knob, and discouraging my interest in wiring my winch into the auxiliary switches.

Love, Peace, and Chicken Grease,
- Max

Newb here. As I age my bike riding days are starting to wind down. Now I am looking for another activity for the Wife and I to enjoy together. She is on I think her 6th Wrangler and has given me the go ahead to make it a weekend play machine. Nothing too dramatic, we are in our 60's but not on the couch full time just yet. Her current ride is a 21 Sahara unlimited. Mostly I am looking at a bolt on build. Tires, Wheel spacers, skid plates, rock sliders, coil spacers, shocks and a winch to start. I have been wrenching 50 plus years (mostly Helicopters and Motorcycles) so this stuff looks well within my capability. I will be doing many searches and then asking some questions as I get ready to start spending money. I already have another set of stock 18 inch rims lined up and once those are in hand I will pull the trigger on some 285/75R18 Duratrack RT's.

Excited to start another adventure!!

Hi Everyone! My youngest daughter for the longest time has been wanting a new (new or used) car to drive. She was thinking of Wrangler (4-dr), Bronco or 4-Runner. She drove a 4-Runner and I could tell it was not to her liking. That left the Ford and Wrangler. On my day off, went to the local Jeep dealer and drove a 2024 2-dr Sport S home and she took an extended test drive. (I really liked the 2-dr plus the discount off sticker was REALLY good.) Then drove the 4-dr (same color and engine) and felt completely different plus $ 5k more. Drove the 2-dr again and she said, "I really like the 2 dr. better and you were right Dad." Bought it and she is extremely happy and is loving the Wrangler more and more. I could not be happier for her! I'll be the one doing the OC's and maintenance. Will forgo the "free" dealer oil changes. First OC and filter will be done shortly @ under 1k miles. I have lots of questions to ask and thank-you for this forum and all the members here. Thanks, Bill.

Hello all,

I'm from Northeast Ohio, and this will be the second Jeep I have owned. My first was a 2000 Jeep TJ inline 6 w/ far to many mods lol, that I loved and beat the hell out of. Had a lot of good times in her (Bad Karma was it's name) until the drive shaft broke on the highway and destroyed the power train and almost killed me.

Now man years later, I am sitting with my wife as she buys a new car and one thing led to another and I am the proud owner of a 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL Sport. Totally stock, with the 2.0 turbo 4, and a soft top.

Very excited to see what kind of fun I can have in "Bad Karma II".
