Howdy - new to the JL but not new to Wranglers...pic of my old manual-everything JK from 8-9 years ago up in the Beartooth mountain range in MT.

Anyway, figured I'd join because I'm relatively close to putting in an order on a 4 door, so that we can resume doing cross-country road trips out there in a Jeep now that we have kids.

Still trying to figure out which spec I want - leaning toward the Willys, based on the improvements it got for '24, but I'm still open to any of them at this point.

One question - and I know it's beating a dead horse - is the manual transmission. My JK had one, and I quite enjoyed it. Because of the current stop-sale, it's hard to find a JL to drive, but I did get a chance to take one out yesterday at a Ford dealer. However, it had over 80k miles on it, so it may not have been a great introduction to the JL manual. This one was super, super light with an on-off switch like engagement (didn't feel like it was slipping, though). Did not like it, at all. Is this type of feel indicative of a brand new example as well, or did I just find one that was uh...well worn?

Hi,

I have always been into modded sport cars/SUVs and come from a long history of Drag Racing. About 1 year ago, I got an itch for a truck and got rid of my AMG and purchased a TRX. It opened up a world that we didn't know we were missing. We went from spending our money at high-end bars and restaurants, hanging around rich snobs, that we couldn't really stand and being around chaos when we needed peace. I had also developed quiet a drinking problem since COVID and was putting away a lot of Bourbon each night and then it developed into a day habit too. We began our offroad journey by taking the TRX out to Bridgeport. We were very careful and didn't do many trails as we didn't want to scratch our truck...lol...

That one trip changed our lives, we loved being out on the trails so much that we started going to the Ouachitas every 6 weeks and staying for 4-5 days. We spend 7-10 hours a day out in the woods of Oklahoma and Arkansas finding more and more trails and we tend to stay away from the crowds around Hochatown and Broken Bow even though our cabin is there. We have gone from enjoying days and nights in nice restaurants of DFW, eating and drinking, to enjoying eating a sandwich on the tailgate of the truck, coming home dirty and exhausted, throwing a steak on the grill at the cabin and living a much simpler and non-chaotic life. I also got off the bottle and it's been over 10 months since I have had a drink. My wife has only had 1 glass of wine and 1/2 of a Marg in the last 10 months but she never had an issue like me. After a year of doing this, there isn't a single place on the TRX that doesn't have pinstripes(Cross Bar Ranch didn't help that matter any). Each trip, we say we are going to stay on wider trails and then we see something cool and we just go hit it. When we leave the cabin and come back home, we clean up the truck, shake our heads and say how much we need a Jeep.

Last Saturday, we saw an ad on FB for a 2022 392 right down the street from us. We looked at each other and said let's go drive it. After a short test drive we told the dealership we would go to lunch, think about it and let them know either way. During lunch, we discussed it and I told my wife that I like my truck too much to trade it in and we didn't need two big V8s especially since we have trouble find good gas where we go wheeling and the 392 was a little underwhelming compared to the TRX. She said that she totally agreed and that she would trade in her Audi Q5 if we could just get a 2024 Wrangler 3.6 Rubicon. I said get out your phone and find one. After about 5 minutes she said "finish up you Tacos, we are headed to Weatherford". We were lucky enough to meet and purchase from a really nice sales rep(Michelle C.) that made the process seamless. A few hours later, I was the passenger in my Wife's Earl Gray Wrangler X.

This past weekend, I installed the ARB Dual on-board compressor and an OpenRoad winch. We have a trip planned to the Ouachitas, for our Birthdays, in September and can't wait. In the meanwhile, I am eager to meet and learn more about the Jeep community and the forum members here.

New here, just picked up my first Jeep yesterday. I've always been somewhat Jeep-adjacent in my vehicle choices and the timing and offering was right this time around.

Picked up a '24 Sahara yesterday. Will be getting some new shoes soon, but I'm more of a backroads explorer than a serious wheeler, so nothing crazy, probably BFG Trail Terrains in the stock size for now.

Trail terrains are a great choice if you're looking for that happy medium between minivan tires and KO2s. Put a set on last year on my wife's Atlas - we hit a lot of gravel roads out west, and they're perfect for that type of use. Plus, they're QUIET on the highway.

It's in my yard now. Plain Jane, but exactly what I wanted 2021 Sport V-6 Manual transmission soft top. 24k miles, looks like new except for the running board mounts midship, hint of rust there.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum and have a 2018 JL. I included a pic right after we got the lift finished and new meats mounted. It gets out several times a year and has been a blast since I bought it.

I am working through some mods and rework so I may have questions for 'the throbbing brain' that lives in the forum.

Hello,
Purchased my 2023 Beach Edition on Memorial Day. I was able to get below MSRP and got a good trade in number on my car. Although the overall buying experience at the dealer in South Florida was not good.

The Beach Edition checked most of my boxes: 3.6, XR Package, leatherโ€ฆ.. I really preferred the 23-Grill and XR rims compared to the new 24โ€™s. My last JEEP was a 1999 Sahara-4.0 manual many years ago.

Good evening, greetings from over the sea,

Have been lurking for a few weeks and thought it was time to say hello! Have taken delivery of a banana yellow 2 door, 2 litre, this is causing a bit of a stir locally. Wranglers are a bit of a rarity over here and cause heads to turn to say the least.

Sold my MX5 (miata) and decided to return to 4x4 for practicality reasons, try getting fishing rods in the Mazda. The Jeep is a revelation, comfortable, powerful and a proper live axle, chassied beast unlike what usually passes for a 4x4 here. Previously used a Land Rover Series III and a Soviet built Lada Niva. Both capable but hair shirt as regards comfort.

Very impressed by the knowledge and resources on display, yes, learnt a long time ago to search before asking questions.

Cheers, Andy
