Jim here from AL. Current JK owner and its not going anywhere. I've been an avid Jeep enthusiast my whole life and really like what I see about the JL so far. So, I just wanted to keep up with the latest and greatest and see how everyone enjoys them. I'll be hitting the road for a West Virginia Jamboree in October and hope to see some out on the trails!

Mike From NY . AKA sadass. I have had jeeps my entire life too include. CJ5, CJ7, YJ. then In late 90's I started modding the ZJ.s starting with the first 93 ZJ. The previous are long gone. I currently have a stock WJ as a DD. and my Trail Jeep/DD for 9 of the last 10 years, is a very, capable 1998 limited 5.9 (ZJ)Grad Cherokee with 7" IRO front and rear Long arms. Trussed Front/Rear 4.56 geared and locked axles. A part time T-case with Novak cable shift. Modified RE46 air breather for deep water to match the ARB Safari snorkel/ stage IV Sliders/ ProtoFab Winch bumpers and wireless synthetic line winch., Roof Rack, 50" curved Led Off road lights. and the list goes on and on. only thing stock is the 5.9 is lt's 360V-8. My motto was Built not Bought. I guess I am going to eat my words and buy a jeep that is as capable of the show room floor as the jeep that took me 10 years to built. well the JL is almost as capable out the box. The ZJ can dive deeper. flex more and has bigger tires. lets just say I am going to start with one hell of a canvas. I am going to purchases a Red JLU Rubicon this spring. P.S both my sons also have lifted and locked ZJ's Not sure how they are going to take this JLUR as my DD.

Hi! Amanda here from Orlando, Florida! This will be my first ever Jeep I’ve been wanting one for the past several years but it was never the right time, husband was deployed or in school and we had no need for 2 cars. But FINALLY I will be a part of the Jeep family. Can’t wait to get my JLU!

Kevin from suburban Philadelphia here. So far I have owned an 04 Black TJ Rubicon (I should have never gotten rid of it), 2010 JKU sport in dark charcoal pearl, 2015 JK Sport in black, and currently am in a 2016 JKUR in black. All with the usual lift, wheels, tires, bumpers etc....

I am going to be getting a JL this year for sure. Going back to the 2 door. Looking for a JL Rubicon in Sting Grey! Ill be keeping this one completely stock suspension wise. Just going to change some exterior pieces, add a winch and some lighting.

Hello all! Dominic here from MD. Looking at getting a JLU Sport S in sting gray. This will be my first Jeep and I am super excited to get finally get one. I've wanted one forever but timing was never right. I will be in the market in April so hopefully by then the aftermarket stuff will catch up with the release of the JLU at dealer lots.

Hello folks.
I have a Black JLU Rubi on order. I recently sold my 2014 JKU Rubi... Tons of work done to that unit, and barely any miles (19,800); so needless to say I did well on my trade. Looking forward to the new version and testing out its capabilities in Moab. I also look forward to chatting with you folks, sharing and learning new things about the JL.

Hello from Orlando FL.

Currently driving a 08 2dr Wrangler X. Its still going strong. Want a JL but will have to wait 1 year or 2. But came here to keep track of things and torture myself for 2 years =P

The JL will be my 3rd Wrangler (4th Jeep)....but most likely my last. So I plan to get a Ruby. If I were buying today I would get a:

-4dr Ruby
-Soft Top
-8.4 Nav/Radio
-Tow Package
-Steel Bumpers.
-Blue (hoping by time a get around to buying one there will be some sorta dark green)

:)

T from CT checking in.

Soon-to-be-first-time owner of a JLU Rubi. Coming from Subaru AWD - will need to learn to pay attention as to when to engage all four.
Hoping to do some off-roading.
Manual transmission is the #1 requirement in my vehicle.
LED, Winter package, Hard Top, Tow/aux.
Hoping to hold off on mods for a year or so as I learn the vehicle.... riiiiight... I used to have a KLR, sssooo... I have a problem... err... history.

My other vehicle is '04 Yamaha FZ-6 unmo... ok, fine, it's slightly modded.

:jk: wave from NC! Newly registered to the forums, but been reading them for a while. I currently drive a Jeep Cherokee Limited that is a lease. My lease is 2 months from being up and Im so excited! My boyfriend has a 07 JK and I love driving his Jeep! So much so I want one of my own and what perfect timing but to have the All New Jeeps coming out. I am a little disheartened :( because my local dealerships have been jerking me around and not wanting to order what I want..which is a Firecracker red Rubi. They keep trying to push me to buy a Sahara that is arriving to the dealership by the end of January. So I am a little torn about what to do. Do I go ahead and place the order for the Rubi of my dreams and hope it arrives before March 18th (my lease turn in date) or do I take the Sahara they have coming in? I have never been seriously off-road, but I was hoping to get a Rubi and begin learning to go off-road. I don't want to be just a Jeep owner (mall crawler). I want to get out there and get dirty! :computerrage:

Sounds like a stealership trying to push a lady into a deal she doesnt want. One of the first rules of handling car dealers is to not let them push you around. Tell them no, and you will find another dealership that will work with you and walk away.

It's YOUR money - spend it on what YOU want, not what the dealer wants to sell you. If your dealer won't take your order (which is crazy) then go to another one that will. Since you haven't listed any late availability features you are looking for if you order your Rubi now it's *possible* it shows up before your lease is up. Even if it doesn't you should be able to go month-to-month on your existing lease - ask your lessor.

Hey all. As the forum name states, I'm a long time GM car owner (and will continue to be since Jeep doesn't make a Corvette), but a few weeks ago after months of following the new JL I decided to order. This'll be my first jeep! ... first ever non-GM. I've many friends/coworkers who own them and anyone I've ever talked to about their Jeeps always smile and then say awesome thing about them.

I went for a granite/dark grey Unlimited Rubicon, hard top (black), and almost all the options available... I didn't want to stay awake a night wondering if I should have gone for one of the options while waiting for delivery.

Looking forward to hitting trails with friends who already have capable vehicles.

Dealer called me a day ago saying they should have a VIN for me early next week. Really excited, and can't wait to take delivery!

Hello everyone, I've been around Jeeps for awhile. The CJ was well into its product run when I bought my first one in 1974. The YJ had almost completed its product run before I switched to a YJ in 1995. But with the TJ I jumped right on board with a first year model in 1997. It took me two years to get on the JK band wagon, with my switch from a TJ to a JK being in 2010. It wont take as long for me to switch from a JK to a JL though, because I ordered a JL 4-door Rubicon yesterday. I had been wanting to change from a 2-door back to a 4-door for a while, and liked what I had been reading about the JL. Cosmetic changes are minimal, which is fine with me. I like the stronger but lighter frame, and I like the fact that the front axle tubes are larger diameter and thicker walled, and twice as strong as the JK front axle tubes. I like that lighter materials are used, like aluminum for the hood, doors, and hinges, and magnesium for the tailgate support frame. I like the fact that you can run 35s with no modifications. I even like the improved aerodynamics. I will tolerate the auto-stop feature, being as it will save a quart of gasoline over the life of the vehicle

. I opted out on the Active Safety Group because I chose not to have yet another electronic nanny watching over me.

I went with Granite Crystal outside, and the light tan leather inside so I could get the silver dash instead of the black leather and red dash combination. Now I join the waiting game for two months.

Hi everyone. Hope to be a new Jeep owner in time for the 2019 JL roll-out. Learning all the ins-and-outs of Jeep Wranglers in the meantime.

Haven't owned a 4x4 since my mid-90's Suzuki sidekick (my last new car purchase). Currently own a 96 Tacoma and 04 Sienna. The Minivan is long past due to be replaced, kids no longer in the picture.

I settled on the Wrangler after considering small SUV's or convertibles. The Wrangler is both.

No serious off-roading for us, maybe a little soft-roading. Light DD for the wife. We live near the beach and FL weather is great so the Jeep would be a "fun" way to get around and enjoy the outdoors. Light towing of a wave-runner in the near future.

My choice for a new Jeep will be a modestly equipped Sport S JL (2dr). No need, or money, for a Rubi.
