Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a 2019 JLU Sahara 2.0T back in April 2019. Unfortunately, I have had the vehicle in the shop 3 times already for the same issue, which is a check engine light that throws the P023b code. This causes the fan under the hood to run on high ( and makes the wrangler sound light a jet engine.) The first time occurred with about 2500 miles on it, and the dealership said it was due to a frayed wire that cause lost communication between the fan and the computer. The second time was about 1k miles later, and the dealership replaced the inter cooler pump. The third time happened about 800 miles later, and now the dealership has no clue what is going on. The have had the wrangler since 7/27/19 ( I know only a few days)...but have advised they have opened a STAR case with Chrysler. I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this type of issue before and what was done about it?
I am hoping they can fix it....but so far, the dealership ( and Chrysler) are at a lost for what is causing the issue.
Any help is appreciated because I am sick of driving a loaner and want my jeep back ( to enjoy the summer ;))
Thanks in advance!

Wow. They gave you a loaner that quick? Wish my dealer did that... As for the vehicle, how are your lemon laws in your state? My state is 3 or more repair attempts and you can give them notice you believe it's a lemon and they have x amount of time to fix it, or give you a replacement vehicle or a refund. Maybe you should try that route if your laws are similar? Might either push Chrysler to find a real fix or get you into another new one that hopefully won't have those issues

Thanks Cmcclaflin31! I think since this was the third time...they felt bad. I contacted both my sales person as well as ask to speak with the service manager. We contacted Chrysler on Saturday ( the day we took it in) to advise of the issues. They opened a case for the vehicle. My state is similar in which it states that if you have taken the vehicle in for the same issue at least 3 times you would qualify. Do you know what kind of notice you have to give ( other than contacting Chrysler like we did?) I know the service tech I spoke to yesterday said if they can't figure it out, they might replace the vehicle ( but also said that was above his pay grade :))
I really love my jeep ( few upgrades so far) so I am hoping they fix the issue, but I am also concerned if they have to tear apart the entire engine. I would expect an extended warranty at a minimum in that case.
Thanks again for your response!

Hi JeepMama,
We're sorry to hear about you experience. I can see from your other posts that you have gotten a case opened to ensure this is documented as well as get you connected with a case specialist. If you ever have difficulty getting in touch with your case specialist, please let us know!

I believe all you have to do is submit a written letter to the dealer, informing them you are claiming the vehicle as a lemon. Chrysler kept promising me too early of an arrival date for the 7 day repair attempt to work, so I never was able to submit for it. Now I'm just waiting to hear back from them about if they want to help me out or not. Case manager won't return my phone calls or even pick up the phone. Chrysler support reps won't tell me anything because apparently "it's above my level to tell you this." So personally, if it were me and I could do it again, I'd submit that letter.
