Apologies that I don't know the appropriate terms but I'm a new 2 door Jeep Willys owner. I want to install some ceiling straps to help me get into the back of the Jeep, primarily to get at the soft top to close it. I noticed 4 threaded screw spots that I think would work well to bolt the 2 straps to (see pics). Any idea what size screws I would need to get and is there any reason why this is a bad idea? Thanks in advance.

No idea what size (a thread sizing kit would help) but I would not install there. The plastic piece with the dome light will get broken with the strap being pulled down on it. If you go this route cut some slots in that trim to accommodate the straps.

I agree with jpribe, don't mount a handle there. I am guessing you are trying to close the top by yourself with the sunshade's in the way; and can't do it from one side or the other solo even standing on the door sill?
