Initial Skottle Cleaning

Got my Tembo Tusk Skottle, and came with a bunch of Cosmoline that doesn't want to come off, tried hot water, soap etc.

What's the easiest way to get it off without taking off the factory seasoning? Just get the Skottle up to temp?

Just heat up and use it. The Tembo Tusk is ready to go out of the box. Treat it like cast iron or carbon steel; no soap, just preheat before use to sterilize and avoid acidic foods until you develop a good seasoning.
