Shortly after getting the Jeep, the wifey “subtly” made a point that she was a bit less than comfortable climbing in and out.** I also presume that 'sliding' into and out from the seats wasn't going to turn great for the side bolsters after a while. As a happy-wife-happy-life proponent, I had to consider side steps. I wanted to maintain the side ground clearance and the OEM rock rails. I also wanted the ability to uninstall and store fairly easily. That narrowed a bit my options, which made things harder and easier at the same time.
I settled on the IAG EZ Steps. A bit pricey, but really nice piece of kit. Quality and finish are great. I like that the inside of the brackets are covered in felt, so they won’t scratch the rails. Installation was quite easy, I had to use some of the provided spacers for the back steps to avoid any contact. Fitment turned spot-on.

**Trying not to think too much about what she’ll have to say when I lift the Jeep, I'll find a way to make it up to her when we cross that bridge 🙃

I'm right there with ya - in more ways than one ;-). I went with the stainless steel inserts and they look great against the Granite Crystal Metallic. I found the folks at IAG great to work with, too - great customer service. And like you said, they're easy to remove and store in the vehicle when on the trail. Yes, initially they seemed a little pricey compared to imported stuff, but... they're high-quality, built in USA and definitely well-made with great US based customer support. Very happy with the purchase.

I like those. We don't have our Jeep yet as we are searching for a good deal for the wife. She wants the Sport or Sport S and since they don't have steps, I'm already looking at some for her. Those look nice and clean. Good job.

So do the steps come off easily? and if they do, does that act as a rock guard? Are they mounted to the frame and or body mounts? Or the pinch weld?

They come off pretty easily and can be thrown in the trunk. The steps are designed to mount directly on the OEM rock rails which come standard on the Willys and the Rubicon. So they are an interesting option if you already have the factory rock guards on your Jeep. If you are getting a Sport / Sport S, it may not be equipped with the rock rails - so the EZ Steps won’t fit.

Ahhhh so those are just the steps that you attach to OEM rock rails. My bad. I thought it was a hole system.

On your local Craigslist, or Facebook market, you can find OEM rock rails for near give away prices.

Love the pink splash on black!
I got those with the stainless inserts as well. I really like the look and the ease of removal/attachment. The bonus is that once detached, you can carry one or more around in the Jeep, and they are perfectly fine just hooking over the rock rail for temporary use when getting in and out while wheeling.

Just a quick thought about those (optional) spacers provided... Initially I didn't need them for the front door steps; there was plenty of room - and - I was too lazy to pull the rock rails if not necessary.

The back door steps were a little tighter fit so I decided to pull the rock rails and install spacers on both sides. One spacer pushes the rock rail out exactly 1.87mm allowing the felted hooks to slide over the rail and between the tub a little easier. It also seems that tightening the steps against the bottom bracket snugs the hooks closer to the rails. So what might initially appear as not much space between the hooks and tub actually increases slightly once the steps are fully installed.

In hind sight there's no down side to having a little more room between the hooks and the tub. Added bonus: cleaning the pinch seam and mounting points while the rock rails are off just feels like the right thing to do.

That’s been my experience as well.
Your stainless inserts look neat!
