How Hot Does Your Touchscreen Get?

I'm also having the overheating of the Uconnect screen issue. Any time I drive an hour or more the screen gets very hot to the touch. The dash around the screen is also very warm. You can actually feel the heat radiating off the screen if you put your hand close to it. This is not when using the navigation. This is whenever the screen is on for a long period of time. This can't be normal. It makes me worried about components wearing out or worse, fire. Any update or resolution from people who have had the same problem? @Seansun01 @Deride , any luck with a fix?
They replaced the electronics in my infotainment system (I think the screen is original). I haven't noticed it getting quite as hot, but I'm still having occasional wonkiness with CarPlay cutting out, the whole system shut off a couple times (maybe it was a programming issue?), and lousy satellite reception. Mine is in the shop for at least the next two weeks due to a back-ordered part that apparently renders my vehicle unsafe to drive in the meantime, but I'll check the temp with an infrared thermometer when I get it back.

Good luck getting yours back from the shop, Seansun01 . I'm going to take some temperature readings with an infrared thermometer as well and then take mine into the shop. Hoping for a good resolution.

I love my Jeep, but something is definitely wrong. It was 28 degrees F outside. I wasn't running the heat in the jeep, and after 45 minutes of driving the Uconnect screen was 104.2 degrees F. That's insane!! I can tell that it gets even hotter when I drive for longer periods of time. Jeep has an issue here that needs to be fixed.

My Jeep is back! They had to replace a steering dampener. It drives like a different vehicle! As for the screen, Iā€™ve not checked it yet, but before it was replaced temps were going into the 120ā€™s...

Glad that it drives better Seansun01! Would be curious if the temperature issue is resolved. Mine is getting up that hot as well.

That's good to hear. A having a case escalated means that a Case Specialist will work in tandem with your dealer to help address your concern. They will also be able to provide repair updates to you while your Jeep is at the dealership. What is the fix for this? My dealer said some B's line that it's normal up to 140Ā°. No way that is safe.
