I've updated the settings but keep getting emails for every thread I've ever posted in. How do I make it stop?! Lol

I turned emails off months ago but continue to receive them for all replies, they go to my spam box so not that big a deal but point is the system is still sending them even though I've unchecked that box.

How does one actually stop the emails even with that setting turned off?

Changing that option is not retroactive. You are likely getting emails on all the threads watched prior to changing that option. In your settings look for all of your currently watched threads. Then (manually) you have to unwatch and rewatch (without emails) all of the threads that are sending you emails.

That seems pretty stupid to me having to "unwatch and rewatch" every thread you're interested in. Turning off emails should do just that, turn off emails. Seems a colossal waste of time to go through thread by thread.

In the body of the emails there is a "disable all emails" link. I clicked on it and it seemed to have done the trick. I'll know for sure after a few more alerts. Cheers

I already posted above...click your avatar, click preferences, then uncheck “and receive email notifications of replies”

This is 100% correct. I had the same issue and after changing profile options I was getting e-mails from any thread I posted to previously. When I would see an email I would go to the thread and click Unwatch at the top.

Yes I read and understood your post. In my preferences I have unchecked the "and receive email notifications of replies" box. My comment was more of a "yet I'm still receiving the emails" thing. I think its odd for it to be retroactive and i was looking for a way to turn off emails with a more simple solution than having to unwatch all my watched threads. I'm sorry my last response wasn't more clear to my point. Cheers

That’s interesting so you’re still receiving emails? I used to always have to go through my emails and unwatch every thread I commented on but that seemed to do the trick for me.

I had those boxes unchecked but still get emails, that's why I asked. I'll use the link in the actual email.

When you click "New Unread Posts" for example and you have the list of posts, any post you have replied to has a binocular icon to the right of the thread title. Click on those threads and at the top choose "Unwatch Thread".

If you still get e-mails, use the link to get to the thread you may have missed or was really old and not showing up.

Also, for future reference, there is a board dedicated to the site itself, where not only can you ask questions about the site and provide feedback, but also see that you're far from the first person to ask this question.
