Old thread but just curious, were you able to drive your jeep like that? My rear end started to make a humming noise similar to that of what a ring and pinion would make when the backlash is messed up. This was after trying to go over an obstacle multiple times for over ten minutes. When I got home from the trail the rear locker wouldn't engage and I got the "service axle locker system" error. Took it to a shop and we thought it was a bent axle shaft or driveshaft issue, but the noise is coming from inside the carrier. The mechanic didn't want to disassemble the locker but he thinks it is a Spyder gear issue. I have driven almost 3k miles since that happened, no issues other a faint humming noise and a rear locker that won't engage. I tried the Mopar sensor kit, z automotive bypass and hard wiring the locker and nada.

Jorge,

If you have someone that can take it apart for you, I can guide them through a complete disassembly and inspection. We'll find out what's wrong pretty quick.
