Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the Houston area that is reputable for a gear install. I reached out to both BnL Jeep Shop and Tank Customs already. BnL seems like they aren't doing much Jeep work anymore and Tank said they aren't able to do it for 3-4 months due to them moving/building their new shop.

249 Drive Train. But know this before going: the owner/proprietor (Allen) is a chronic level 4 crotchety, grouchy, cantankerous, foul-mouthed unpleasant bastard. I’m not even kidding. He will gripe and complain and make you feel like he’d rather have his nuts shoved into a shredder than work on your Jeep. He WILL offend you, piss you off, or in some way make you feel that it’s not worth it.

However, he knows what he’s doing. All he does is regear Jeeps of all types and generations. He will do excellent work (when he gets around to it). He will charge you a fair price.

He prefers to supply the parts (understandably). I think he likes Yukon. He does NOT like isotropic finished gears.

This is my experience. My gears have not made any noise or caused any issue since he worked on it. YMMV.

Good luck.

Thanks for the recommendation and the warning Jeremy.
