hello everyone. I have a jlur that I might be using for work. If so I will be using a cargo carrier to transport lawnmower power washer other stuff. Has anyone use a hitch extender if so what are your recommendations.

Hard to go wrong with any of the extensions. Buy from a reputable brand; Reese, drawtite, etc.. get two hitch locks to secure your equipment. Go with the bolt locks. They will let themselves go your Jeep key. At the end of the day, all hitch locks are easy to break, just makes you a harder target.

I been reading that an extension loses 50% of TW (my snowblower is 250lbs) also your not allowed to tow a trailer with an extension.

If you already have a hitch, this is a moot point, BUT, be aware the Receiver tube length can vary by manufacturers. I wanted the 2" tube to extend just past the edge of my rear bumper, and got a DrawTite for this reason. Now my Cargo Carrier clears the edge of the spare tire, no extension needed.
Ball mounts come in different lengths too, which helps

I have this one and really like it...https://www.kuatonline.com/accessories-107/hi-lo

It can add either 7" or 10" of extension and 2 1/8" rise or drop. I believe it is rated to 350 lbs, which is pretty much in line with what the stock receiver is rated for.

It doesn’t say in the description. :whatsgoingon:
That is true. When I received it, it said this in the instructions. There are also a couple of video reviews out there that say this. I don't think it's a big deal, since when using an extension the allowable JLU tongue weight is on the order of 175 lbs.
