I just left my dealership after building out a Rubicon 4xe and the hinge gate reinforcement option is no longer available.

I had to remove it and replace it with a full teraflex hinge and tire carrier for my 37’s.

The OEM unit is about as effective as tail light “protectors”.

Anyone else notice the tailgate reinforcement removed from their options on the tracker?

It has been there since the beginning on mine, and as of today I no longer see it listed.

That, coupled with this thread and the other thread saying XR is no longer an option for ANY order, is curious. I don’t believe in coincidences. I’m betting there’s a correlation. I can only hope this means they deleted it from my build and will finally push the fucking thing out of JB.

Meh...it would not stay tight over time and the tailgate would start to sag. The pressed in studs started pulling out of the relocation brackets too.

Obviously, driving environment (on-road vs. off-road) can cause this to happen more or less often with the Mopar.

For the cost of the Mopar tailgate reinforcement and tire relocation kit, you are well on the way of paying for a proper solution.

She doesn’t drive off road and the gate seems secure. I wish I had not ordered it from the factory. I did replace the tire carrier with the Teraflex unit first and after seeing a little bit of deflection in the tailgate ditched it for the Teraflex hinge.

I wonder if this is the part hang-up that is causing the XR to not be an option right now as well?
