Has anyone with a High-Tide removed the spare tire and what advantages or disadvantages does it present (other than not having a spare tire on board).
I was considering it so as to get better sight lines on any incoming ordnance.
Thanks in advance!

so I took mine off to install Terraflex tire carrier.

Unless I go traveling or rock running, I may never put it back on. I'll know if a tire is deflating on hiway. I carry fix a flat. And plug repair kit. If it was good enough for BMW, why not jeep.

I notice no difference except I can see out back, minus the rear brake light contraption.

If you never leave the road you are probably ok. I shredded a tire on the Rubicon so I wouldn’t off-road without it.
Pro.. a tiny bit better view, but we all have backup cameras. Gate is lighter.
Con.. you have to store it somewhere. Looks funny.
Questionable pro/con how your Jeep will fare if rear-ended.

Removing the spare tire from a vehicle like a High-Tide may have some advantages in terms of visibility or storage, but the disadvantages (mainly losing the spare tire in an emergency) are significant, especially if you often drive in environments where a flat tire can occur

Won’t the Tazer Jl mini let you program a steering wheel button to turn on the rear camera whenever you want as well as when you use your turn signals? I know the spare delete thing has been beat to death here, but I plan on keeping mine. My wife is really good at removing and reinstalling a 35 on the tire carrier while I sit comfortably in the drivers seat.

Used my spare twice (onroad) in my driver life.
Be careful about fix a flat bottle, they are not compatible with TPMS.

I hadn’t heard anything about this either way so no arguments from me but their website states “Fix-a-Flat is tire sensor safe. After the qualified tire repair professional has repaired your tire, they should clean the TPMS device with water to remove any sealant that may have come into contact with the device. After the repaired tire is replaced and inflated, the TPMS system can be reset and will resume operating as normal.” Has anyone used it and had to replace their TPMS sensor?

Liquid flat fixes would be my last resort, knowing it has consequences later. I carry a couple types of flat repair kits. And a spare.

I do have a tire repair kit and GlueTread. I carry fix-a-flat with the thought I might quickly help someone with regular passenger car tires but it sounds like I need to rethink it

Maybe they updated their formula to make TPMS sensor cleanable. I do not have any first hand experience in that regard, I carry a spare :)
