If you're going off-roading I'd get rid of the 22s. It'll look cool on the street, but it's a bit ridiculous to try and go off-roading with 22s. I mean if you were running 37s or 40s, I guess that would be okay, but 35s on 22s, you're losing 2.5 in of sidewall all around the tire. Not really a good idea there.

Again if you're keeping it on the street though, it'll be donktastic! You'll fit right in in Miami!

To add to tredsert also if u go to -18/-10 you will overcome their extra width inside and would almost clear your Sahara fenders…might only need leveling kit

I would say so. Though at that point you really don't even need the lift unless you want it for looks. I believe you can run 35s on any stock Wrangler. Maybe only with a little bit of rub at full lock. Yeah if you're not looking for articulation, there's really no point going for a lift.

As with most things, "it depends".

While 35" tires may "fit" in the wheel well w/o a lift, tires do not actually run true to size (they all vary by exact height, and compress a bit when inflated to different psi and under different loads). You may find with the tire you select that you have some rubbing at full lock/turn.

That said, you could certainly put the tires on without a lift and see how it works. If you decide you need a lift, 1.5" to 2.5" is typically what's needed to "properly" accommodate a 35" tire on a non-Rubicon. There's also a component of look/style here, as some people who have no intent to ever go off road like to lift their jeep to get a better look.

In terms of the wheel diameter, for off road use you typically want the wheel to be about 50% of the tire diameter for proper cushioning (17" wheels). On road, this doesn't matter so much and here is where you will see 20" or 22" wheels.
