-- this (wet first w/ waterless wash) + Adams hand polish + Adams waterless wash took it off for me when something similar happened to my white JT. I was using some textured spray paint to touch up the factory metal bumper and didn't properly tape.

Plastic windows I'm not sure about... as they're easily scratched.
Thanks for your response. Looks interesting, I’ll research this product - it looks like a Mr. Clean dry erase bar, which I also tried with a cleaner, but no luck.

I had a similar issue with a car a while ago and detailer was able to use a claybar on the paint. As many people do with their new cars and say it makes them spectacular. would hate to try anything chemical on the windows…might ask same detailer you have doing the paint.
Thanks for replying, I did try a clay bar, no luck.

On second thought You may need to go through his insurance and get it sorted the right way....which will be an expensive lesson for him/her!
Makes me wonder if the neighbor's HO insurance would actually cover this (acting as a General Liability policy), or if it would result in a comprehensive claim on the OP's Auto if the neighbor wasn't willing to pony up.

Oww, don't use that on paint.

Compound is next step, and holy cow, if it works on this video, I'd think it'd do the trick:

I'd do whatever you can to avoid a respray.

Take it to a detailer who specializes in paint correction.

With the amount of overspray on the soft top windows, you have to realize that the entire soft top has overspray on it, you will see it under fluorescent light.

Also, check the other side of the Jeep, you will likely find specs there too.

Sounds like the paint issue needs a pro paint correction shop and if the soft top cannot be safely cleaned up by the pro shop, have the dealer replace it. It sounds pretty severe.

DO NOT do anything yourself. Talk to your neighbor, tell them you will have it looked at by a professional that deals with these things, and then the neighbor can decide if they want to repair our of pocket, or file an insurance claim.
best advice right here ☝?

I don't have any advice other than let the professionals deal with it. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Try rubbing alcohol on the black part of the window material... see what happens... I have gotten spray paint off with that on plastic before.....you try to use on inconspicuous clear edge to see if it affects the surface......I have used super fine polishing compound with a micro fiber on my plastic windows of my YJ in the past.....good luck

YOU should not be doing ANYTHING. Your neighbor should be paying to make you whole, including a wax if necessary.
It's really not that big a deal if a clay bar and some polish can get it off. No sense in causing the neighbor unnecessary expenses if they aren't needed.

OP I had a can of black spray paint explode in my garage all over our Granite Crystal JKU. Couple rounds with clay bar and meguiars polish took it all off. If you have a dual action orbital buffer, even better.

Thanks for your response. I used a clay bar on paint, no luck. Probably need new windows.
I've performed some miracles with a clay bar, but as you confirm, it didn't work for your situation.

The neighbor has said they will "take care of it". Best to get a comprehensive quote or two and give him/her the opportunity to keep their word. Document every conversation you've had or will have with all relevant parties. I hope your vehicle is restored to your satisfaction.
