Help.. Instructions are wrong.. Rubber I ring from stock drive shaft cannot go into new yoke.

Instructions say it should...

We are just going to assemble without rubber ring as yoke has no slot for it..

Anyone know what's up?

You don't need the ring. Just coat the bottom of the nut with a thin film of RTV and install.

When you say that you torqued to spec.. what do you mean?

The only end that gets an actual TQ value is the transfer case side. The diff side gets TQ to reach a specific TQ to Rotate figure. If this is being done to replace a stock shaft, then you only TQ that nut until there is no movement in the yoke in any direction. If you go further than that, then you're crushing the sleeve even more. If you TQ'd this to the pinion nut TQ figure, then you likely smashed the sleeve too much.

... The pinion side didn't change. Just the 4 x 15mm bolts from oem shaft into new shaft into existing pinion flange. Pinion nut not touched..
