Service 4wd light and sway bar disconnect not available light came on. Dealer says a new wiring harness is needed due to rodent damage. “Service writer saw tracks on dusty engine and immediately said oh looks like the rats got your harness without even looking at the under carriage.”

I started crawling all around and under the jeep when I got home and can’t see any evidence of damaged wiring but did find this wire jumper hanging partially out of a female plug on the harness just above the trans/transfer case.

Any ideas on what this plug is for? Should it have a factoy jumper in it that got lost and someone fixed with the wire?

Thank you for feedback.

Dealer wants $800 + to put in a new harness and I’m not sure if they even looked under the jeep.

I have the same issue on a 2018 JLUR 2.0. I have underbody skid plates and they want $800 just to drop the plates and look after they said it's a switch that needed. He went to install it (obviously the tech didn't look and just scanned it) and said there isn't a wire attached. I'm having trouble finding what the connector looks like or a part number that attaches to the actual transfer case and it's hard for me to reach. :(
