Today I was leaving work and noticed my CEL was on. Pulled the codes and got P0A94. Tried to clear but it’s a permanent code. It’s been running fine and no issues but then a couple times I got the red battery light and voltage would drop to 11.x volts but then it went back up to 13.6/.7. No one seems to know much about this code. Says it’s the DC/DC inverter. I’ve got a 2018 2.0 etorque btw with only 60k on it.

hows the voltage on the 12v side? Seems the only dc/dc charger is one the 48v side uses to charge the 12v side.

The voltage I mentioned was on the dash cluster. I put a meter on the battery studs when I got home and it was mid low 12’s without the engine running

So here’s the latest codes that have came up. I’m getting a feeling that something is going wrong with the MGU

Tale it in to the dealer. Like previously mentioned, the etorque system has a 8yr/80K warranty. With all due respect, posting on and on about it in a forum, isn't going to solve your problem.

I am taking it to the dealer. I’m also kinda doing this to document it because I’ve barely seen anything like this mentioned on the forums. I want others to be able to have a source to help them.

Excellent!
The DC to DC inverter is basically the heart of your electrical system. That inverter supplies 12V (from 48V) to every 12V component in your Jeep, in addition to charging the 12V battery.
I agree, there haven't been many issues like this reported on this forum. Please report back, it'll be nice to know what they do. 😉

Monday it’ll be going in so I’m curious to see what they say. My only concern is that the 12v battery is going bad. It’s the original 2018 battery so who knows.

That's a pretty long life for one of these OEM 12V batteries...

That was kinda my thought too. I was shocked to see it was an original one. I’ve never had a single problem with it starting or anything like that till now. Even now it starts perfectly fine

Well update time…..

something in the PPU died or malfunctioning so now I have to wait on the dealership and the Chrysler engineers to go through it and document why it failed. Luckily covered under the 8yr/80k warranty. Battery alone is $2200 without labor so I’m curious to see how much the total repair bill will be.

So here’s the final update on this. The PPU was the culprit. Luckily it was still under warranty. They did a software update and the new PPU and all good to go now.
