My first winter with both my Jeep was heated seats and having a waxed trucker jacket. (Flint&Tinder).
anybody have any issues with a wax jacket on heated(black cloth)seats?
I searched for heated seats and got a million results and I searched for wax jacket and got none. wasn't quite sure where to put this so I put it under electrical because that's what the heated seats are.

thanks

Are you asking if your jacket will stain the seats? I’m not familiar with that brand but my waxed jackets left oils on black leather seats. It usually gets wiped off or dries naturally with no discoloration. Try pressing it in small spot first I suppose

yeah I wasn't sure if the wax on the jacket would be pulled into the seats. I would think it'd be easier to clean up on leather seats.

Ok does a waxed jacket mean it got a Brazilian? I’m sorry couldn’t resist. A quick Google search will probably suggest not to wear it on heated seats but I have no first hand experience. What does the manufacturer of the jacket say? The fact that you’re concerned means you should probably trust your gut instinct and not wear it. I spend too much money on Jeep mods so I can only afford to wear cheap hoodies.

I've read the manufacturer's website for care instructions they even have nice videos about how to rewax it when it gets old. not supposed to put it in the washing machines not supposed to be dry cleaned. but I didn't read or see anything on heated seats. I'm still looking through Google search results but they all seem to be about leather seats.
Terrymo, You're probably right, if I thought it might be an issue it probably would be. maybe I'll just grab a towel to throw over the driver seat in the winter.. The heat will still get through just not the wax. it was good hoping against the laws that someone would say oh yeah I've been doing it for years and never had a problem.

This never actually occurred to me, but I have a waxed nylon parka that I've worn a few times with the heated seats turned on and didn't notice anything weird on either the seat or the jacket.

So I'm guessing on "low" heat, you'll probably be fine, but since my parka is long and would be covering the hottest part of the seat, I think I'm gonna avoid using it for the entire ride like I usually do when it's really cold.

Come to think of it, I do remember smelling candles on a couple trips last winter and couldn't figure it out, so maybe that was it? 😬

Drive both the JLU (leather) and TJ (cloth) in my Belstaff wax lacket.
No problems with seat contamination BUT Belstaff is a dry wax, and English rather than Italian manufactured, wouldn't drive either in my Barbour.
Jeep Wrangler JL Heated seat, waxed jacket belstaff

The Jacket is at least 20 years old, is regularly re waxed with Belstaff product and I've always worn it for winter driving in assorted vehicles with/without heated seats.

Why would you need a jacket with heated seats? Just put it on when you get out. I don't like driving in a coat anyway.. Just a thought, wishing I had heated seats.....

Consider a thin seat cover if you're worried. It won't affect the operation of the heated seat, but it will protect it from... wax?

Different brand, but Barbour specifically states not to wear their jackets while utilizing heated seats.

I guess I'm a little too blue collar to understand what the fuck a wax jacket is and thankfully so...
The irony is the jackets have a long history of use in blue collar outdoorsy work going back hundreds of years. Before synthetic materials, waxing a canvas or cotton jacket made it windproof and waterproof. They're very durable and last a long time.
