While there are a number of 9" or 7" (with adapter) replacement options available, you could just swap the bulbs with LED bulbs for a fraction of the cost.

I have been told just to buy the led bulbs but have been told the j.w speakers and oem are the best way to go I'm just looking online some say 9 inch some say 7 inch and not sure what the difference is I measure out mine there 7 but I just feel like I'm missing something here because my daughter's is a 19 and it's the same thing is the 9 inch just for the mounting purposes so.i.dont need the an attachment

JL headlights are 9". The JK headlights are 7". You can use 7" headlights on the JL with adapters, but there's really no point in doing this anymore as there are plenty of JL options for all price ranges. Earlier in the JL generation there were very few choices so the 7"-with-brackets option had merit.

I recommend springing for the good stuff...I have Oracle's Oculus system and it's fantastic but it's not the only great option out there. If you decide to go the bulb route PLEASE get quality bulbs like Diode Dynamics, Morimoto, GTR and the like. The cheap bulbs suck, despite the fact that there are some fanboys of them here that will preach otherwise.

I ran the Beamtech LED bulbs in my halogen fixtures for 3 years, and they worked very well for the cost. Guess that makes me a fanboy but they were fine, never got flashed, and were a vast improvement over the halogens. Bang for buck they are hard to beat.

I moved to an area with lots of 2-lane roads and shadowy areas and wanted DRLs. I upgraded to the Oracle Oculus LED headlights with the LED halo ring for DRLs. They are quite nice and would recommend them as an option if you are looking for a full LED headlight replacement at a reasonable cost.

There is probably not a better bang for the buck in an LED replacement housing. MilSpec and OEM quality.

You will need 7” adapters. Almost no one will notice 7” headlights in the JL opening, as the 9” housing edges are covered by the grille anyway.

I have the DD LED Elite MAX and have been pleased. They are pricy, normally you get what you pay for.

Last year there were a ton of scratch and dent Rough Country 9” LEDs found on eBay for something like $250. That is the best deal if it ever comes up.

I ran some high end led bulbs in my wife’s JLU for a long time. My JTOD has the led package, and it’s ridiculous how much better mine are. I swapped my wife’s headlights out for some Amazon special led headlights (9”) and it wasn’t even funny how much better they were than led bulbs in halogen housings. Halogens just aren’t meant to have LEDs in them. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Buy once, cry once.

Thanks for the recommendation. I run the Oculus as well and the cutoff and fill is strong and clear. No glare to bother on coming traffic.

So here's a great example to use. I've been looking all over for an example of what i'm talking about with cheap bulbs and it's difficult to find. I always tell prospective buyers - LOOK FOR A BEAM PATTERN SHOT. If the site you are buying from does not post a beam pattern shot that's because they don't want you to see it. Every time someone on this site raves about a $40-50 pair of bulbs I look them up, and of course there's no beam pattern shot on the site, but there's also never any third party reviews. This time I found one...there is a third party beam pattern shot of the Beamtech V4.

THIS is what i'm talking about:
Jeep Wrangler JL Headlights - 9" or 7" Beamtech-fanless

Ouch. That's WORSE than the stock halogens!

Not surprisingly, the projection is a disaster too:
Jeep Wrangler JL Headlights - 9" or 7" driving-beamtech-led

Now compare that to a GOOD LED bulb (this is the Diode Dynamics SL1):
Jeep Wrangler JL Headlights - 9" or 7" EFLlO4gW4AIeh_x

This isn't an advertisement for Diode Dynamics, by the way, you can get bulbs just as good cheaper (these are $200/pair), but it is an advertisement for quality bulbs.
