Hey guys,

i found a local, barely used hard top (plastic matte black paint) with the sound deadening headliners installed. Is $2k (with the dv8 brackets included since I’m from a soft top) also installed by them a decent deal? I’m in New England area.

also he doesn’t have the JL bolts/hardware and only the JK bolts/hardware I guess to install it. Will JK bolts still work? I also remember reading that I could reuse some bolts from my soft top?

The hardtop is not plastic; it is a brittle, fiberglass-like material.

Not sure what the DV8 brackets are. That price seems cheap in this day and age. I’d ask if it’s been damaged.

Good luck.

Keep in mind that the rear washer/wiper and defroster won't work until you add the wiring harness and washer lever. Some have removed the wiper and motor and just installed a knob of some sort though.

OP is in New England so those could be very useful and may even be required by state law. The kit from Mopar is a good deal other than the amount of labor involved in the installation.

I don’t think there’s a law since I’m running around in a soft top currently. And yes it would be nice to have, but for now I’ll wait since rigging it all up is $$

Apparently the guy buys sells jeeps and parts as a hobby/side biz. He said no accidents and honestly even if it came off an accident jeep, it wouldn’t mean it’s shot. I will inspect it.
