I know this topic has been discussed before but mainly how to install the LED kits. My 2018 JLUR came with the LED package and I can't find a way to turn the halo lights off. I ride around my property sometimes at night just to see what wildlife is out there and I'm glowing with those lights on. Has anybody actually cut the small brown/blue wires that power them in the headlight connector? I'm not against doing that if there aren't any other side effects from it. I don't care if I can turn them back on or not, I have no use for them anyway. Thanks in advance for any helpful inputs.

There should be a Uconnect setting on your radio.
  • Go into settings, scroll down to lights, and uncheck the daytime running lights.

Have you tried turning off drl in the radio? Mine are aftermarket and I intentionally wired them to be powered through the radio drl switch

I have turned off everything that I have access to. The halos are the only thing on with the engine running. I think the drivers side halo feeds the passenger side. Just wondering if there are any ill effects from just cutting the wire?

Don't know about the Jeep, but I've had other vehicles that would cut off the DRL if you went one click on the Ebrake.

I've never heard of that. I'll be trying it shortly. I'll let you know, thanks!

I just tried it and unfortunately it didn't get rid of them. Thanks for the tip though!

A Tazer or JSCAN can disable the halos as well. I'd go one of those routes before cutting wires.

Tazer / JScan is the only way on the JLs. My Grand Cherokee had the option in UConnect, but that option is not available. Tazer has a Blackout option.

I did that first thing. It turns off everything except the halos. I'm ready to cut wires. Lol

Thanks, I'll look into a tazer. The blackout option is exactly what I want anyway.

It works for everything except the halos. I was at the dealer yesterday for a recall and they said they can't disable the halos either.
