Worst day ever. It was a 60 zone. Right after I crossed the line (green light), oncoming white car was turning right to my front..
Because there were other cars in other lanes, I could only hold the steering straight and hard brake..

After the collision, wheels are still straight, but the steering wheel is offset. ESC light is on (after searching in the forum, it may be due to steering is offset).
Probably drag link is bend but Im not sure..

Drove the car to the roadside then called the insurance and lodged claim .
NRMA booked the assessment for me on the 2nd day. But assessor can't assess the dmg because it is an "unusual" car..After they made a few calls, they found a repair shop which is able to check a wrangler..

It took nearly 3 weeks for them to make a list of parts which they believe that need to be replaced. Now I am still waiting for the dealer to give an estimated delivery date for the parts to the repair shop.

Apparently wrangler is too rare in here..it will take much longer for the process.
First time I called NRMA, they said an alternative car will be ready when I was doing the assessment. Later I was told I will get it when my car is repairing in the shop.
Last time I called NRMA, they said I can get one for now due to my car is not safe to drive. But they say I can drive the alternative car for a reasonable period. They couldn't say for how long..

Wish you never meet other "bad" drivers on the road.

That's bad luck, hope your ok. The issue is that Jeep Australia do not keep enough stock in here...then it takes months to get here by ship. I reckon they wait to fill a container and then ship it. I have a mate with a Rubicon that waited 12 months for a new rear differential housing. Was not drivable all that time. Ridiculas !

The only good part, nobody was hurt.
It is unbelievable for 12 months… finger crossed for my case….

I have parked my car in the garage for 3 weeks..

I had another bizarre two years ago with Jeep dealer. They were going to replace my shocks under warranty. They found stock in VIC and told me it would take 4 weeks to ship to Sydney. Despite I was checking with them weekly. After two months, I called them to ask the status. They told me someone forgot to place the order in the system.. the 2 months waiting was for nothing….
Ridiculous….

Yep doesn't surprise me. I had to wait 3 months for an Air cleaner for my diesel. I imported a genuine one from the UK faster and cheaper than the dealership. Lucky now I can get them locally now. Good luck mate.

Sorry to hear this happened to you, mate. I am assuming that it wouldn’t have made a difference if you had a choice of repairer in your insurance policy given the delay is to do with sourcing parts from the US, especially if it’s a RHD specific component.

Yes. You could be right about that.
It would be hard too, for myself getting the RHD parts.
Another lesson learnt. If I add the option of allowing to choose the repairer. Maybe they could help assess the damages sooner and start to order the parts. Save three weeks of assessment..
But I don’t have that in my policy and I don’t know any shops that are familiar with Jeeps…

I think most of shops here are dealing with more with Toyota or Mazda..

I’m looking for any shops in Sydney which can work with NRMA to repair wranglers. If they have more experiences on Wranglers, I would have less worries on repairing process…

but hopefully, I will never need them in future…

Gee, the Jeep held up pretty well, especially the bumper. The other car definitely came off second best.

Might have to confirm I got car hire on my policy, 12 months for parts is insane.

I'd imagine there wouldn't be any repairers in Australia, let alone Sydney, that specialise in Jeeps.

I think It could be much worse if I don’t have the steel bumper.
