Worst day ever. It was a 60 zone. Right after I crossed the line (green light), oncoming white car was turning right to my front..
Because there were other cars in other lanes, I could only hold the steering straight and hard brake..
After the collision, wheels are still straight, but the steering wheel is offset. ESC light is on (after searching in the forum, it may be due to steering is offset).
Probably drag link is bend but Im not sure..
Drove the car to the roadside then called the insurance and lodged claim .
NRMA booked the assessment for me on the 2nd day. But assessor can't assess the dmg because it is an "unusual" car..After they made a few calls, they found a repair shop which is able to check a wrangler..
It took nearly 3 weeks for them to make a list of parts which they believe that need to be replaced. Now I am still waiting for the dealer to give an estimated delivery date for the parts to the repair shop.
Apparently wrangler is too rare in here..it will take much longer for the process.
First time I called NRMA, they said an alternative car will be ready when I was doing the assessment. Later I was told I will get it when my car is repairing in the shop.
Last time I called NRMA, they said I can get one for now due to my car is not safe to drive. But they say I can drive the alternative car for a reasonable period. They couldn't say for how long..
Wish you never meet other "bad" drivers on the road.
