I'm putting in a new self-powered 10-inch subwoofer underneath the passenger seat. Slowly but surely, I've gotten power in, I've connected to the audio lines via an LOC, but I am just being cautious about doing the groundings correctly.
I have to ground both the subwoofer itself and the LOC (a small device that connects the subwoofer to the audio system by connecting the factory wires for back left and back right speakers to a simple +\- RCA line to the subwoofer.)
The LOC has IN lines for BL+, BL-, BR+, BR-, and out lines for Remote to Speaker, the RCA+/- to the speaker, and a ground line.
The self powered subwoofer has the RCA +\- line, the power IN, the remote from the LOC IN, and a ground line.
I've seen a few YouTube videos that show someone grounded to a bolt on the side of the body just next to the passenger side seat belt. Are there any other spots that people would suggest?
Also, I’ve read that it is OK to ground the two devices lines to the same location/spot on the frame. Has anyone done this?
Thanks for any assistance.
