So I recently installed the 2.5” rough country spacer lift (already have 285/70/17 tires stock wheels etc.) and have been off-roading a few times since (of course). Right after install we though we could hear a bass noise coming from the suspension but figured it was nothing.
It’s been a month since we installed it using only hand tools and I first noticed this grinding/stamp punch noise when going over bumps so I figured the inner fender liners were crushing against the suspension. I cut away maybe an inch of it that goes over the spring (Photo below)
Today I drove pulled into a driveway and the front suspension didn’t feel as rough (probably my imagination) and I heard the crunching/grinding noise come from the front suspension louder than before. Going over smooth speed bumps I don’t here it but it seems sudden bumps I do. While on trails is worries me because I know I’m clear but it sounds like something crunching.
I would appreciate any ideas of where
this is coming from! Maybe a worn out
bushing or maybe from the shocks?
