Grease on exaust

So when I look at my exhaust I see that the pipes in the back are covered in a layer of black grease. When the engine runs it has no remarkable smoke, only white when it is cold.

Can you post a picture to help us visualize what you're describing?

My thought is you're describing the black soot, which coats the inside of the tail pipe. If that is what's happening, it's normal considering you have the 2.2 diesel engine.

The inside is just black and dry but the pipe on the outside is greasy. For the moment I am also waiting for an oil cooler replacement because it has a leak, but the parts take a long time to arrive.
