Anyone else find that the GoodYear Mud Terrain have really short treadlife? I have a set, rotate at 5k miles and at 15k miles they appear 50% worn. I’ve seen a tire review that said they wear fast at first then the rubber hardens and they last longer from there. Seems a bit odd if that is true. Any thoughts out there? Maybe my next set need to be all-terrain.

I just came out of 2016 Mini Cooper S lease where I was on my 4th set of tires at 40K miles. 15,000 miles and at 50% tread life? Sounds pretty good to me.

I'm on my 3rd set of Michelin Sport Cup 2s on my GT350R in 6000 miles, but like your Mini's stock tires, they're different tires for a different purpose.

The Mud Terrains on my 2016 2-door Willys are <50% with only 17K miles.

I got almost 50k miles out of the Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar. They didn’t wear evenly but that’s mostly because of the twin traction beam front end on ford’s.

I've never gotten much more than 25,000 miles on original tires on 40+ new vehicles. Can't imagine a mud tire getting much more than 20K. When you replace them you can go with better rated tires. I will say however, Jeep seems to put a higher quality tire on a new Rubicon than what other companies would use.

Cooper STT's on my JK lasted 40k miles doing a 5 tire rotation and still had good life on them when I traded it in.

I have about 25% tread life left on my BFG KO2 after 69,000 miles (35,000 driving and 34,000 towing behind the motorhome).

Cooper's? Were those the original tires? Like I said, you can buy tires that will last a lot longer than the ones the automakers put on

And I appreciate Jeep putting a high grade tire on from the factory with the KO2's

Just putting the info out there in case someone is looking for tires. The Stock MT's lasted 40K for me as well.
