as I recall, it came with a 304 V8 automatic with quadratac 4 whl dr . there was a little lover down on the housing where the transmission protruding into the cab that was your high low. It was full-time four-wheel-drive. Mine had the Levy seat interior so they were like tan with Levi buttons had to be careful cause those buttons would get hot in the sun. I know it also came in a brown metallic color, which was pretty sweet and black, but that was about it I think

Trim package is pretty much a level of color, decals and accessories. Renegade and Laredo were 2 others. They seem to change by year also. Without the original hood bird or striping, a Laredo, Renegade or Golden Eagle all pretty much have the same options, levi's seats, clock, tach. Unfortunately there was never an options code in the VIN. The dead give away for the Golden Eagle was usually the wheels. Here's what is on the 1978 According to the Dealers Brochure."Golden Eagle Package: The CJ Golden Eagle package includes tan Levi’s vinyl front bucket and rear bench seats with color keyed interior; full carpeting in brown; the Décor Group (substitutes black anodized rocker panel for chrome) and Convenience Group; tachometer and rally clock; five 8” spoked steel wheels painted gold with black accent stripes; 9-15 Tracket A-T outlined letter tires; wheellip extensions; roll bar; rear swing away spare tire carrier (CJ-7); fixed back panel and rear spare mounted (CJ-5); spare wheel lock; tan Levi’s soft top; special Golden Eagle hood decal with name lettering in gold and black; and body side, front fender and grille striping."

There are others that you come across from time to time, but not sure if any others were official factory colors. I was shocked to learn about the orange and green.

Plenty in black too. I personally think the black is more badass.

Cut that portion out, after you take the vents out. Then lay the portion of the graphic over the vent, and with a razor knife, cut out the holes. Reassemble.

Yeah, the Borg-Warner 1339 Quadratrac. With the "Emergency Drive" vacuum switch in the glove box to lock it into part time. It was a design ahead of its time.

so my first Jeep was a 1977 golden Eagle CJ seven
When I ordered the first year, JL I slapped a big gold eagle on the hood I ran to an overheating issue because of a failed thermostat. Current windshield and I needed a truck so I traded it in.
Now I’m back in a white 24 Rubicon X four-door and I’m considering throwing another eagle back on the hood swapping the wheels to either gold or mat black

My personal position on the matter is that I'd claim my Jeep as a legitimate re-creation only if I got all of the details right: the correct size and placement of the correct decal(s), the correct wheel design and color, and everything else that could and should be faithfully carried forward from the original.

In other words, no half-measures.

If I just installed a sticker on the hood and called it a day, that's fine, but I also wouldn't represent the vehicle as the clone that it isn't.

You'd need aftermarket wheels. Those OEM 15" wheels wouldn't fit so well on a JL. But a 17" that has the same design would work in spirit.

Yeah, there'd have to be a modest compromise or two here and there, but done right, the overall aesthetic is attainable.
