Ugh that sucks. At least you weren’t under the Jeep when that happened. Still I can imagine your frustration. I had thought about tapping the threads too. Harbor Freight has a decent tap and dye set that I bought years ago and has held up to minimal abuse. Good luck and please report back so we know how Go Rhino makes this right.

Update: Go Rhino got back to me and I am very pleased with their customer service. They have offered to replace all of the nut plates and bolts. It wasn’t to much of an issue to clean up the other plates with a 3/8s tap so I told them to only send one. Appreciate them getting back to me quickly.

Glad to hear they’re taking care of you. Good luck with the rest of your install.

Done! Liking em a lot, they don’t stick out past the furthest point on the rear bumper but can still get a solid 1/2 to 2/3 of a foot on the step.

Are these frame mounted or are they mounted to body pinch seam?

I just received a set of these side steps and was all excited to install them today. Unfortunately all the brackets that attach to the body and pinch seam were not finished properly and have raised welds where they are supposed to fit flush with the pinch seam. I could not fit them to my Jeep without causing damage to the paint and pinch seam. I have sent a message to Go Rhino to address the problem.

I'm just curious if anyone else had this when they did their install?

I don’t think mine were like that. It’s been a while since I installed them, but I think I would remember that. Good luck, it seems Go Rhino is pretty good about making things right.

You would definitely have noticed if yours were like that. Any attempt to bolt the bracket up starts deforming the pinch seam. I'll wait and see if Go Rhino gets back to me. The steps look really good so if my patience runs out I might just take my grinder to the brackets and remove the excess welds and repaint them so that I can get them mounted. Nothing worse than having new goodies for the Jeep in the garage just sitting there teasing you.
