Hello Everyone!
I was really considering getting a set of bumpers from Genright for my 2024 Wrangler JLU. I am a little hesitant because they are constructed of Aluminum. The guys at Genright claim you can smash them off of rocks with no issues. They are constructed of 3/16 aluminum which is great, however I just couldn't see them standing up to the test of time as far as rock crawling goes. Love the idea of no rust and weight reduction, they are just a ton of money and I don't see to many people smashing them off of rocks. Didn't know if anyone has any experience with these bad boys. Any info if much appreciated!

You won't regret it, man. They're pricey but I was super happy with mine.

Did they take hits well?
Yeah. They take hits just fine. If you hit it too hard or excessively, then yeah, expect them to take damage. I hit mine quite a bit but never a real issue. Hit the fenders more than the bumpers on things.

Many manufacturers are producing aluminum skid plates. I wouldn’t be too worried about them not being steel. Lastly, Genright makes killer products.

I had aluminum skids on mine, as well. I would do the same mods over again given the opportunity, for sure.

Okay thank you so much! I figured they would just fold right into the tub with a hard hit. I think Ill end up going with these. Appreciate the response!

I like GenRight products and I had their steel high-fender flares, corner guards, and rock rails on my TJ. After a while, I regretted not paying extra for the aluminum as the TJ took a significant performance hit from the added weight (these and other steel items). The only thing I wouldn't use is their aluminum body-mounted rock sliders as they don't provide sufficient protection against large rock hits.

That's a good point. The rock sliders are something I wouldn't recommend either.

@mgroeger has personal experience with this, I believe.

I don’t have Genright but all my armor is aluminum and my break in runs on my JLUR were some 7/8 trail rating sections. My aluminum got touched plenty (including my lesson learned of go stubby in front), including some that made me cringe. They’re fine.

I have them ... went with the three steel rash guards and extra support brackets for the rear bumper. I also have the stubby front bumper.

I put a set on my best friends JTR, excellent products and well built. He left his bare and they have done well in the last four years. I'd recommend them!

My problem was slightly different. I was running steel rock slide/step/rocker panel combo. The problem was anytime I'd take a hard hit it would translate right into the aluminum rocker panel and crease it bad. GenRight was aware of this problem and later addressed it on newer releases I believe but for me it was "sorry about your luck kid".
