Garvin spare tire rack

Hello all, I'll be picking up a 23 Rubicon wrangler JLU soon. I'm trading in my 21 Mojave. I know I'm going to be missing storage capabilities of the Gladiator. I was looking at supplementing my cargo carrying on the Wrangler. I'm torn about doing a roof rack vs. Just a tire mount Cargo Carrier. I appreciate strap on mounts for the tire. I was just hoping I could bolt something on that swings with the door. I already have hinge renforcements.

I guess my main question is those that have done tired carrier cargo mounts is it helpful, useful, ornot worth it. I like the garvin unit but it's pricy so I'd like to be sure.

I wish Teraflex would make a rack for the JL like they have for the JK. I loved the rack on my JK, fit my chainsaw and an Action packer perfectly.
